NOBLESSE: Walking Away
Noblesse is a three-piece alternative rock band based in The Hague, The Netherlands.
The band is currently working on their 2nd album, We Are Not Humanity, together with the American producer Gordon Raphael who has previously produced the first two albums of
The Strokes , Regina Spektor, Skin (Skunk Anansie) and Beatsteaks.
The album is being recorded in The Hague and Tel Aviv, mixed in Berlin and mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City.
A preview-EP titled We Are Not A Demo and featuring four songs from the album will be out during on October 8th 2009, with an album release expected later in 2010.
The story of Noblesse started in the early days of 2005. Singer/guitarist Amos, bass player Shahar and drummer Gideon decided to stop avoiding fate and formed the band Noblesse. The half-Israeli half-Dutch trio wasted very little time before releasing their first EP.
‘Four Song Demo’ got raving reviews all around, as a highlight getting named ‘Demo of the Month’ by music magazine Fret. As a result they appeared live on 3FM radio, The Music In My Head festival, Gentse Feesten and toured to Tel Aviv and Berlin.
In late 2006 Noblesse released their debut album, Sound The Alarm, produced by Henk Koorn (Hallo Venray). The album got the band selected as Local Heroes by LiveXS magazine, got national radio airplay, and again the reviews were loving.
By the time the 30 show album -tour was over the band had built an impressive live résumé, adding venues such as Paradiso, Waterfront, So What, Speakers and Paard van Troje to a long list of club, radio and festival appearances.
After the dust settled, Noblesse decided it was time to explore new creative territories and use Amos’ experience as a professional dancer and choreographer. They went on to create a new live performance concept named after their upcoming album , We Are Not Humanity (WANH). This unique show combines the new, powerful songs of Noblesse with explosive modern dance, theater and video. The premiere performance of WANH during Cadance festival ‘08 was sold out and received a standing ovation. The songs of the upcoming album form the soundtrack of this performance, which will tour again in 2010.
In a relatively short time Noblesse has grown into a mature, well respected and loved band, with a unique sound of its own. Now on the verge of releasing an accomplished and vital new album, the future looks bright for Noblesse.

Two abstract urban meditations composed by French visual artist Jérôme Schlomoff.
Both filmed with a pinhole movie 35mm camera, these two films create mysterious and eerie portraits of the two cities, a ghostly New York City under a snowstorm and a poetical exploration of Amsterdam as a city suspended between past, present and future, in a visual voyage filmed at some of the city’s building sites.
Both films are going to be presented with a live soundtrack performed by experimental hip-hop producer Smooth One and bass player Mouard Baali.
Smooth One biographical notes:
Smooth One comes from the abstract hip-hop scene. He wrote with Dj cam the two first album in 1996 and 1998, Underground Vibes and Substance. After a live album recorded in « Transmusicales » festival in Rennes and many remix for Air, Tek9 and Silent Poets, Smooth One decided to work alone, mainly on film music, and managing his own label, Superflux, which also published the soundtrack of
