Bio
..Who is dj Typhoon/Sonny B.? (Short Version!).. .... At a young age I became involved in the first hip hop movements that was going on in Copenhagen in the early 1980s. Imported from the US of A young kids picked up what they saw and heard from the streets of New York and developed it their own way. I immediately felt connected to this new subculture that included b-boying, graffiti, djing and mcing. Around 1983 I started breaking and doing graffiti and then I picked up on djing in 1985. I spun and collected rare grooves and rap records from that time on. I have been djing ever since but in the early 1990s I also went into producing tracks. In 1994 I started running a small specialized hip hop record shop in Copenhagen named Typhoons Hangout. I ran this business until 2001 at a time where things got a little more serious with my first independent record label ..Boulevard Connection Records... I released a couple of albums and singles, some of which became small underground cookies. My wish to run my own label was spawned by my work with my friend and indie lable legend ..Bobbito aka Kool Bob Love.. which helped the release of my very first vinyl in 1997. This was entitled Sut Min Pik (The Boulevard Connection) and came out on ..Fondle Em Records... In 2001 I established another side label project called ..Sonny B. Recordings... With this label I wanted to help spark the career of a lot of talented Danish underground hip hop producers. The collection of music from these cats gave birth to the project ..Nobody Beats The Beats.. which has earned respect worldwide. .... These are some of the great artists I have been working with so far: .... ..Bobbito; Stretch Armstrong; Artifacts; Company Flow; Loop Troop (Promoe); MC Serch; Gangstarr; Non Phixion; Yeshua Da PoED; Craig G; MassInfluence; Arsonists; High & Mighty; Common; Black Thought; Malik B; Aphylliation; Maylay Sparks; Little Brother; Last Emperor; Dilated Peoples; Brand Nubian; Apani B Fly Emcee; Tim Dog; Punchline; Pharoahe Monch; Mr. Complex; L-Fudge; Madlib; Oh No; Wildchild; Percee P; Medaphor; dj Romes; Alkaholiks; Grand Agent; Timbuktu; ADL; Beatnuts; Linn; Gr8 Skot; Missin..Linx; Natural Elements; Kardinal Offishall; TY; dj Noize; Mhz; Masta Ace; Edo.G; Louis Logic; Heltah Skeltah; Disiz La Peste; Fred Wesley; Pee Wee Ellis (of JBs); Wordsworth; El Da Sensei; Slimkid Tre (of Pharcyde); Supernat; Erick Sermon; Eddie Palmieri; Yukimi Nagano; Venus Brown; Don-e; Dwele; etc..... .. .. ...... ...... .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ......<a style="vertical-align:middle" -
