Hailing from southern California, No Bragging Rights (also known as “NBR”) began to take its present shape in the summer of 2005. Lead singer and founder Mike Perez, recruited drummer Martin Alcedo and guitarist Christian Lee to fill the shoes of the already accomplished NBR. With the solidified roster the band began work on their first full length record entitled, “Because you believe”. The self release debuted in February of 2006 and spawned hits such as, “Broken Bottles”, which received air time on various radio stations across the country and even internationally in Europe and Asia. Fueled by the momentum, No Bragging Rights extended their reach into neighboring states with their first Tour in May 2006 and countless “weekend tours” succeeding it.
The spring of 2007 saw NBR back in the studio, this time with producer Ryan Baker, to record their second official release entitled, “The Anatomy of a Martyr”. The album is best described as a hybrid between catchy melodies and punishing riffs. No Bragging Rights and high energy are one in the same, so it only makes sense that the album was inspired by the people who gave everything to change the world for the better.
The ambitious album was followed by even more ambitious plans to promote it. No Bragging Rights followed the entire Warped Tour in 2007, spending every waking moment sharing their music with new fans! The album was well received and NBR sold nearly 4,000 copies of “The Anatomy of a Martyr”. All of this hard work and effort did not go un-noticed! No Bragging Rights was extended the opportunity to perform on the last two weeks of the Tour, and eagerly accepted!
In the Aftermath of Warped Tour, the band found its self recruiting once more. This time bassist Handsome Rick and guitarist Daniel Garrow were asked to join the ranks of the ever stronger No Bragging Rights. The band decided to follow up on their summer success and booked a west coast tour for November of that year. During this time NBR caught the attention of Standby Records, an indie label based out of Ohio. The enthusiasm was mutual and it only seemed right for the band to sign, and re-release “The Anatomy of a Martyr” on Standby Records. With the re-release scheduled for January of 2008, NBR embarked on an eight week national tour to support the Album, followed by another 3 week tour in May!
Early 2008 saw a rapid snowball effect in No Bragging Rights professional career. Three more contracts were signed, this time with management, North American, and European booking agencies! These additions to the NBR team freed the band to focus intensely on writing their third album (2nd official release) that is due out in the Fall of 2008! Expect to see No Bragging Rights tirelessly touring North American, Europe, and the rest of planet earth in 2009!

Well one night i was in africa petting my killer monkey and he told me to go to the store and get him orange juice or he would kill me or something..i cant really remember, this was late, mind you, anyways.i was petting my monkey after i got back from the store with his OJ,and then i woke up. And that has nothing to do with anything,so i saw you guys February 7th,2008 and you were playing a show with my friends band(EmberMelody), at the Riversdale Grange and you guys blew my mind, and it was incredible that they got to play with a band so great as you guys,so they forced you guys on me when they found out they were playing with you guys, and then now im kind of addicted. i love it. and i work out all the time. HA!
:] Mike came up and was talking to me and a couple of my friends about the band. real nice music, but i can't seem to get the downloads to work... remember, northern virginia is where its at, maryland & DC are ok...but southern VA can get a bit bitchy... haha. :]
What the fuck, guys. You spent all that time and money following the warped tour selling cd's and water, and you can't even play a show outside of the west coast. I get all excited about your music from the CD I bought in Colorado. I'm genuinely upset.
