PJ Proby

It was purely by chance that No Comebacks met up with legendary 60's star............ PJ Proby.
Whose hits include Somewhere, Hold Me, I Apologies & Maria.

Whilst performing at Spirit Of The West in Cornwall UK PJ who was in the audience joined in with the guys on stage. (pictured here) It was just so obvious that they should team up.
The result is this CD dedicated to the singing silver screen cowboys.

No Comebacks, a Scot and an Englishman were only too happy to have a genuine Texan on board. Especially a guy not only rooted in the genre. PJ actually performed with the Roy Rogers' travelling show in the late 50's, but one of the best vocalists to emerge from the swinging 60's pop rock scene.

The result of the encounter is this recording.... No Comebacks with special guest PJ Proby,,, Back In The Saddle Again.

It just HAD to be done. Happy Trails

Weve offered free entry into the Yodelling Workshop at The Easter West Fest for Assynt and Dundonald Mountain Rescue,

YODELLING... AN ART FORM AND A LIFE SAVER.

One morning a skiing party of four set out for the highest slopes in the Colorado Mountains. They were all experienced skiers from Europe.
A storm arose. The skiers were separated. Three of the party made it back to base safely but the fourth was not to be seen.

The mountain rescue team set out in search of the lost skier. For four hours the three man team searched , hollering and calling out his name but alas in vain.
As darkness drew in they decided to head back to base. However one man alone decided to continue the search. This man was a master yodeller, an American of Swiss descendents. He skied on. At each snowy ridge he stopped and yodelled into the white abyss.. ay dee ho lo ho tee... no response initially, he carried on ... aydee oh lo ho tee...
He decided for some unknown reason to head westward to a part of the mountain where skiers never ventured... ay dee oh lo ho te... to is surprise he heard a faint reply from the depth of a snowy mist covered valley ...aydee oh lo ho tee (but not as loud as that) .
The intrepid rescuer ventured forth. His yodel was answered more positively with each meter he progressed.
An echo thought the rescuer. So he varied his yodel... oh to oh tee I lay he... the reply was... tee I de oh latee oh. A fellow yodeller in peril.
The rescuer bravely made haste into the abys, the man was found. A rescue helicopter was summoned and the man was saved.

As it transpired the lost skier was from the Tyrol.. he was a champion yodeller in his native Austria. His yodelling skill had SAVED HIS LIFE.

You see the yodel will carry over great distances. That's why I have trouble with my neighbours.
a true tale... Mark Dean Ellen the Yodelling Mix Master.
