2009: Nator and Dark are currently working on material by themselves in there own time and recording of this will happen within this year, there are also plans for a release of old live, recorded and new recorded material by the end of this year. MORE NEWS COMING SOON! 2008: Not wanting to work with any new members any time soon we decided to start writing new material by ourselves and take the band to a two member level and also record material by ourselves. Going through much experimentation musically we found our tastes changing a lot and recorded the only recorded track for 2008 “A WORHTY DEATH”. Many people did not understand this sudden change in the bands music but this did not matter to us as this was in our eyes some of the best and most meaningful work we have done. We also started doing a couple of other one and two man black metal side projects in our own time and have decided to keep it a lot more underground and to ourselves than before. Nator and Dark eventually moved further away from each other and getting together to write music became much harder to accomplish than before. 2007: Having lost lead axe member Zarrak the band continued writing new material while searching for our guitarist and instead found and recruited new member GOLIATH ..board. Not long after is when the recording of the track “I PISS ON YOUR THRONE”(old version of the single I AM GOD) was made on a cell phone in our practice room while in its very raw and early stages. This track has now been released by N.H.R.RECORDS on there compilation called “VOICES OF THE UNDERGROUND – VOLUME 3”, a compilation consisting of various underground black metal bands raw and unreleased material from around the globe. With all members working hard Noctivian wrote a whole new set of some of there best work and with the financial help from SUBTERANIA MUSIC went to studio to record the single “I AM GOD” in mid 2007 still not having found there new lead member. After the spread of our new blood we got offered slot headlining yet another new festival called “EMPYREAN FEST 2007” in September, just a few months away. Hearing about our member problem, new member BALERION eagerly comes to our aid and learns the material to help the band play the show jus two months later. This would indeed be a show of grate proportion for the band, the African black metal scene and the history of it as Noctivian now have become the first black metal act from Africa to ever play with an international act or headlined a festival, let alone even ever playing a show at all. This in mind, this was one of the most crushing black metal shows the people in S.A. has ever seen and was the best show any of the band members have ever had the honour to play. After the show a CD release by the band was in big demand but unfortunately due to financial problems once again the band could not go and record all our material! The stresses of all this and more tore away at most of the members of the band and they fell away leaving only Nator and Dark to continue to hold the fort into the new year. 2006: The band starts with Nator searching for two years to find the right members to join in forming the body of Noctivian and the first official five member line-up is finally complete on the 06/06/06 (NATOR-vocals, DARK-guitar, POWER-bass, ZARRAK-guitar AND IMPIOUS-drums). Despite his vision, and unsure of exactly what style of black metal will come forth from this group, the writing process begins and it seems the music is going towards a mixture of modern black metal and death metal, taking influences from bands like Dark Funeral, Behemoth, Marduk, Hate Eternal etc. The currently dead local extreme metal scene hears about there new found black salvation lurking in there midst and shows a lot of interest and support. The band, despite being in its very early stages decides to embrace the peoples unholy interest in there work and speed up the writing process to 150% no fucking brakes. Nator manages to get Noctivian a show for just a few months in December headlining a local metal festival as there debut show, “WHIPLASH METAL FEST 2006! Cape Town South Africa” . The biggest local metal show every year. The band manages to complete a 30 minute set by show date and with a scene consisting of shit being smashed, people screaming out the crowd “HAIL SATAN, HAIL NOCTIVIAN!” and vocalist Nator vomiting back stage with a broken ankle (from a bar fight a few days before) and a bottle of vodka just moment before going on stage, the show goes down a storm and steals there souls! This would turn out to be the biggest Whiplash turn out to date and all Noctivian merchandise is sold out within the next few weeks. The night of the show the band also very quickly get offered a slot for there second show once again head lining at a new outdoor alternative festival called RAM FEST 2007. We accepted the offer but unfortunately was never able to play the show due to the loss of our lead guitarist Zarrak just a wile before. The band left this set behind having only ever played it once and never recorded it except for a live bootleg recording of the show at Whiplash Metal Fest 2006.
