Nocturnal was established in 2004 by promoters and resident dj’s Lloyd Evans and Dan Farry. Since then, the reputation of the pair has grown hand in hand with the success of the Southampton based club night.
Now steadily building a reputation as one of the most innovative club nights on the South Coast, Nocturnal has played host to a cast of leftfield heroes including Maurice Fulton, the Elektrons, Greg Wilson, Ashley Beedle, Jazzanova, the Unabombers, Ben Westbeech, Recloose and the Quantic Soul Orchestra featuring Alice Russell.
Central to the sound of Nocturnal is the open-minded music policy of Lloyd & Fazz. Their sets are characterised by a contemporary fusion of soul, funk, boogie, broken beats, house, disco and Detroit techno all weaved together with the pairs’ trademark energy and subtlety.
Having championed the sounds of future soul in Southampton, the pair hold a number of residencies in the city as well as regularly playing further a field at Dusk Till Dawn (Bournemouth), Audio (Brighton), Hospitality Heaven, the Big Chill Bar and Café 1001 (London) and the Bestival and Big Chill festivals.
Nocturnal takes place on the first Friday in every month at the Soul Cellar in Southampton.
