In a capital murder trial, every defendant should have the opportunity to have a fair trial as well as excellent legal representation whether they are indigent or not.

*RACE TO EXECUTION*
A work in progess by Rachel Lyon, DIRECTOR & Andrea Lyon, KEY EXPERT. Race to Execution offers a compelling and original investigation of America's death penalty by probing how race discrimination infects our capital punishment system. This film neither advocates nor repudiates the death penalty; instead, the documentary reveals the inaccuracies inherent of the racialized portrayal of victims and perpetrators in the media, where potential jurors internalize these biases and bring them into the courtroom. Race to Execution enlarges the conversation of capital punishment, focusing attention on race of jury as well as race of victim. With key 2005 Supreme Court decisions overturning death sentences in Texas and California due to racial discrimination in jury selection, the Project provides a timely analysis of the subtle, yet persistent ways our culture casually overlooks matters of race in criminal justice. The documentary races the fates of two Death Row inmates - Robert Tarver in Russell County, Alabama and Madison Hobley in Chicago, Illinois. Their compelling personal stories are enlarged and enriched by attorneys who fought for these men's lives, and by prosecutors, criminal justice scholars, and experts in the fields of law and the media. The film includes major segments on the impact of media, along with how race bias in jury selection influences who lives and who dies at the hands of the state. I am a serious and caring person wanting fairness and justice for those individuals who are being accused of or have been convicted of committing a capital crime. Too many innocent people have been wrongfully convicted, who have been sentenced to life without parole or to death.

I would be interested in hearing from those who are against the death penalty and believe that many death row inmates who are sitting on death row, are innocent and have not had adequate counsel representation and a fair trial. My new website will discuss death penalty and wrongful conviction issues, as well as featuring death row inmates and their individual cases and those serving life sentences without parole. You can check it out @ *www.debracollinsnodeathpenalty.com*

Hey there! The following message was sent to me by Randy, and I'd like to forward it to you with my best greetings, wishes and thanks!! Josef Randy says: Howdy, you all! I know I'm not doing any blogs right now due to my ap-peals, but bear with me and one day soon I shall return - hopefully with a new lease on life. I'm not silenced. That's for sure. I'm just focusing and trying to get past all of the junk going on right now. My heart is with everyone and it's just awesome knowing there's so many people who care. I have sincere love for everyone. I have, since my time on death row, tried to live by three principles: love, compassion and forgiveness. Well, and two others: peace and faith, also. June marks my five year point on death row and hopefully also the end. I'll continue to give updates, but for now I just wanted to send love and let everyone know how grateful I am for this community. We're all brothers and sisters, striving for the ultimate goal: ending the death penalty. It's in our grasps. I know it. Peace, Randy
