Noel McKoys vocal versatility & dexterity is borne of countless fond moments in the company of great & popular soul, funk, jazz & reggae practitioners from American classics to Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers, to Britains own Soul II Soul, Aswad, Junior Giscombe and Loose Ends. The indelible mark these talents have left on his soul is evidenced on songs such as Highways of My Life, Living For The City, Old Skool.
His cultural heritage is an African diasporic mix - Jamaican, American & English. Consequently, this echoes in the many timbres and blends in his music.

Elephants have incredible memories and have greeting ceremonies when an old friend returns, which include the stomping of feet and the blowing of trumpets. Elephants can communicate over large distance via low frequency infra sound, a sub sonic rumbling which can travel through the ground farther than sound travels through the air. This can be felt on the sensitive skin of an Elephants feet, which pick up the resonant vibrations in much the same way as the flat skin on a drum head.
