About me:

WHAT I BELIEVE; WHO I AM:
I believe in the beauty and complexity of the universe and cherish my time here. I try to use my powers for good and mostly succeed. I've always felt fortunate & would rather laugh at life's absurdities than wallow in "what-if"s or "woe-is-me"s. I don't believe in the phrase "If you loved me, you would..." I prefer to live in a drama-free zone...though not passion-free. The full expression of my attention, energy & thoughts is a lovely force that can transform & enrich the life of any willing and able to engage me. In the meantime, I find myself & the world around me to be pretty fucking entertaining, so getting my attention can be difficult...keeping it can be even harder. ...Unless, of course, you are curious & intelligent; have a "good heart;" & get my jokes (CLUE: if you're thinking right now "tell me one," you most likely won't get them.) To such people, my mind and heart is always open. I tell my loved ones honestly what I think, but they never have to wonder whose side I'm on.

WHAT I STRIVE FOR:
My ambition is to create & make the most of as many opportunities as possible for making a difference in the lives of others by utilizing the particular talents, experiences & perspective that comprise my being. I am most proud of the various ways in which I've been able to "be there" for the people I love over the years.

WHERE I'VE BEEN:
Most of my childhood was spent either here in LA or in Oregon, with two years in Oak Park, IL, thrown in for good measure. At 17, I graduated from High School and moved to New York City, where I lived for two years before going to college. I then put myself through Columbia University, where I received a degree in English & Comparative Literature. After several years in NYC, I moved to SF for two and I've been here in LA ever since. I've also traveled extensively, including the following places:
Italy (Venice, Rome, Milan, Florence)
France (Southern, Paris)
Austria (Vienna, Salzburg)
Thailand (Bangkok)
Germany (Munich, Berlin, Hamburg)

PLACES I'D LOVE TO VISIT:
Spain, Greece, Fiji, Tahiti, Bali, Egypt, and the list goes on.

TRIVIA:
My middle name is Renée, after René Descartes. When I was born, my father was getting his Ph.D. in philosophy, so my brother and I each got middle names from famous philosophers. I lucked out though...my brother's middle name is Erasmus. =-)

WHAT I DO WHEN I'M WORKING:
I work in the world of interactive digital content production, including most recently mobile...and love it! I've produced the bonus features for numerous DVDs, including producing and directing various documentaries.
