My mother always told me that even as a baby, I danced in my crib to the music on the radio. So it comes as no surprise that while others have dreams or even nightmares, I usually wake up each morning to the sounds of melodies running through my head. Music is much like breathing and when it stops there is a part of us that drifts off to sleep until it is once again awakened.
Music is the one thing all of humanity has had in common throughout the ages. It is a celebration of life and all that it entails. Having both the capacity to edify and inspire, it reaches out and touches the soul. It serves to inspire courage, creativity and at the best of times...even love. It brings to rememberance things long forgotten...as if they were only yesterday and puts smiles on the faces of both young and old alike. It is a companion for the lonely, a remedy for the sick and causes even the weariest of persons to feel like dancing. Music is the heartbeat of mankind.

However, here are a few that top the list....Braveheart, Dances With Wolves, Desparado, Last of the Mohicans, The Old Man and the Sea, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, The Dirty Dozen and Troy.

Not really a TV person...love movies, great comedians of which there are few these days, relish mystery, crime-solving and find forensic medicine fascinating. And like so many hate that "Friends" ended, as did "Everybody Loves Raymond"...but then we still have the reruns. Daytime television bores me to tears for the most part, so you will seldom find me watching anything unless its a classic movie on the AMC channel. Old game show standbys like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune are good in a pinch...but not regular fare. Especially now that we have You Tube. However, this season also has a few new series for which I have developed an affinity, such as "Heroes","Life" and "Journeyman."

And of course, where would we be if we could not watch our favorite American pastimes on TV during baseball or football season. Oh...and let us not forget that mighty force of nature called Nascar.

Books
My all-time favorite and a must read for anyone that hasn't read it, is "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. Other than the Bible, it is the one book that has had a profund impact on my way of thinking and how I conduct my life now that I'm a bit older. Others that I read when I was still quite young, continue to rank among my favorites and are as follows: Little Women, Moby Dick, Robinson Crusoe, Jungle Book, The Iliad, The Odyssey and last but most certainly not least...The Portrait of Dorian Gray.

Who I'd like to meet: When God told me in 2006 during one of my deeper prayer moments that 2007 would bring about events that would change our lives as we knew it, I had no idea of the miracles that awaited us.
