Noi⚡turi⚡er (The Netherlands). Home-recording project with DIY attitude and inspired by sound-art and underground pretensions. Founding members René Pinger (5/5/1975) and Sebastiaan Schlicher (4/5/1975) engage in impromptu musical recording sessions and experimentations using common musical instruments as well as everyday objects. Noi⚡turi⚡er's output consists of plugged and unplugged noise experiments, collages, spoken word pieces, and folky instrumentals. Noteworthy curiosities are an early rap version of The Carpenters' 'Top Of The World', and 'Hans & Grietje' ('Hansel & Gretel'), an odd rendition of the famous Grimm brothers' fairytale.
Noi⚡turi⚡er's 'Weirdest Hits' album 'Demented Boxer' (2007) is a collection of tracks taken from the original 'Home recordings 5' and 'Mastertape' audio cassettes. The album offers 14 tracks. Moods and emotions range from odd to unnerving, and from maniacal to melancholy. Their latest release and first collaborative effort as a duo since the late nineties is called 'No Atlantis' and was recorded during the summer of 2008. Both albums are available as free downloads. INDIFFERENCE (is bliss)
The group exhibition Indifference (is bliss) opens on the 30th of October 2008 on the premises of a former GP practice in the council estate building 'Forum Kreuzberg' on Skalitzer Strasse 133 in Berlin and will present artistic positions that deal with various notions of 'indifference'.
