About me:
NOISY PICTURES SCREENING SERIES
Noisy Pictures is a celebration of music culture on film, from St. Laurent to Saturn. Noisy Pictures expands the definition of contemporary music through rare and unusual cinematic documents, with an emphasis as much on the mavericks and weirdoes as the revered and renowned.
Noisy Pictures is a retrospective screening series based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Our mission is to deliver themed film programs examining the confluence of music and film; whether fiction or documentary, short or feature length, music video and new media.
Deliberately seeking to place itself between traditional film festivals and reparatory circuit programming, the curatorial aspect of Noisy Pictures will allow it to complement and extend the opportunities for film audiences in Montreal. Future editions will focus on such topics as: The Score: film composition and creative vision, contemporary concepts in the musical, Quebec and Canadian underground music video production, artist retrospectives, genre and scene documentaries (i.e. local and national punk), cross-fertilizations of the avant-garde in cinema and music, multi-media and remix culture and many more.
We envision that in three yearly installments Noisy Pictures will bring the world of music on film from the local, national and global cinema to Montreal audiences with verve and commitment
