...If No Kill‘s “Hallelujah” is meant to be yet another homage to Mr. Cohen, it doesn’t sound that way.
There’s a slight, mid-western/country flavor in the rhythm, but mostly it’s lots of garage rock crash and clang. Noisy, but not indecipherably so. The use of of sleigh bells in lieu of other percussion adds a nice textural dimension. And by all means, the chorus is definitely memorable...
