Six weeks after Hurricane Katrina, a group of legendary musicians from New Orleans gathered in Austin, TX, to record SING ME BACK HOME. Grammy nominated producer Leo Sacks and multiple Grammy-winning Ray Bardani assembled a dream team: Ivan Neville on organ, Henry Butler on piano, and two founding members of The Meters -- Leo Nocentelli on guitar and George Porter, Jr., who assumed the mantle of musical director, on bass. Rounding out the quintet is the wickedly funky Raymond Weber on drums.
New Orleans Social Club at Hatter's Ball in Santa Rosa, New Year's Eve 2006
Over seven magical days and nights at Wire Recording Studio in Austin, THE NEW ORLEANS SOCIAL CLUB was born. "Sing Me Back Home" features solo performances from Henry Butler, original Meters Leo Nocentelli and George Porter, Jr., members of the Neville Brothers (Ivan, Cyril and Charles) and Raymond Weber (Harry Connick Jr.). They are joined by their friends and neighbors Irma Thomas, Marcia Ball, Dr. John, Willie Tee, Henry Butler, Troy (Trombone Shorty) Andrews, the subdudes, the Mighty Chariots of Fire, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and John Boutte.
A testament to the city's rich musical and cultural heritage, SING ME BACK HOME conjures up the sound of the Old Neighborhoods, the Sixth Ward, the Lower Ninth, The Seventh Ward, The Thirteenth Ward, The Calliope Project and more. Click here for NPR radio interview with Leo and Ivan

Thanks for supporting the cause! In the wake of Katrina, we know that Louisiana's coastal crisis means more than the loss of some redfish or blue crabs - it means the difference between a sustainable New Orleans and the next Atlantis - Ask your audiences to text 'COAST' to 77007 to demand leadership to restore Louisiana's coast and communities! Thanks for spreading the word!
Looking forward to your set at Voodoo!
