Hi. I’m Brad Stewart and this is my comedy show.
I call it "No NaMe CoMiCs".
The name is tongue-in-cheek.
(although I generally hate the term "tongue-in-cheek" because it makes me picture some creep sticking their tongue in their cheek and moving their fist back and forth...but I digress.)
The name comes from the fact that there are many talented comedians working today that are still relatively unknown in the mainstream.
(I basically consider any comic that my family in Nebraska haven’t heard of a no-name comic.)
I also named it "No NaMe CoMiCs" because I hate comedy shows that oversell their shit like, "Johnny Nobody presents: THE BEST COMEDY SHOW IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE! FEATURING COMEDIANS FROM COMEDY CENTRAL AND THE TONIGHT SHOW! EVERY SUNDAY AT 11PM AT JEFF’S JAVA JOINT IN RESEDA."
(Take note: if a comedy show is vague about the comedians and puts a generic "from Comedy Central and The Tonight Show" on the flyer then that means it blows.)
This is NOT one of those shows.
I also like the under-dog quality of the name although a lot of people don’t get it.
I’ve heard,
"Why would anyone want to see a bunch of no-name comics?"
To which I reply,
"Exactly. Don’t come."
That just means that’s one less un-imagitive dolt/Starfucker that will be at the show.
