No New Enemies is an International Collective of mixed media artists, writers, academics, and passionate people. In name, it calls for reflection on collective differences, similarities, fears and ways which varied interests and identities can work together towards common ends. No New Enemies rejects a culture of fear, focusing on the growing economy of friendship as seen in peer to peer technologies, open source ethics, street art, and other gestures of giving. It is a comment on public spaces, new possibilities, and the art of collaboration. Behind the statement is an aim to support young artists, place art directly in the paths of busy people and provide alternative perspectives to deal with consumer/citizen split we all face. You. Us. Anybody with an informed opinion and a willingness to share a reality that belongs only to them and as such, also to everybody. Assume your perversity! We are the coming community. In 2003, US President Bush claimed the enemy is invisible... the enemy is everywhere. If this is true we must fear our neighbours, a vital blow to any sense of community. Looking to meet anybody who resists a propogated, mediated, and premeditated reality, preferring their own stains to some old rerun that feels like you might have felt it/smelt it before.
