About me: Camberwell College of Art graduate & SIN Cru member Ben Swift is a UK based illustrator & designer creating super fresh artwork for a variety of music, fashion & publishing brands both here & Stateside. Under the guise of “Nonsinthetik” (pronounced Nonsynthetic) he has created eye catching imagery for club flyers, theatre shows, concert posters, CD & record packaging, animations, projections, music videos, sticker packs, customised sneakers, exhibitions, editorial illustrations and most recently a double decker bus wrap.
As part of London club nights Scratch & Dekefex, Ben created classic flyers for Hip Hop Heavyweights including Souls of Mischief, Dilated Peoples, Ugly Duckling, The Jungle Brothers, DJ Ca$hmoney, DJ Premier, Big Daddy Kane, The Beatnuts, Rahzel, Masta Ace, Jeru the Damaja, J-Live, Lootpack, El Da Sensei & Hip Hop godfathers Kool DJ Herc & Afrika Bambaataa. Ben’s distinctive bugged out b-boy characters and ill illustrations continue to turn throw-a-way flyers into collector’s items & have been reproduced in various magazines & design books worldwide.
Aside from design & illustration Ben's into photography & video too, often found on the edge of the circle documenting one of his passions: B-Boying (Breakdance) for an ongoing project.
Ben's also one of the original Addict Clothing Co. sponsored artists alongside the likes of UK style icons Will Barras, Mr Jago, Steff, Mitch, Swifty & Mode 2, producing super dope t-shirt designs for their limited edition artist series. Now part of the NB Illustration team he specializes in representing youth culture for various advertising agencies & publishers.
