About me: Aloha! To most who have met me over the years or have known me for a long time, I usually go by the nickname of Noodle. Of course, not all people out there are comfortable with calling me by my nickname, so some know me by my real name, which is David Knops. My wife doesn't call me by my nickname, so I usually go by Dave these days. I've been going by the nickname of Noodle since I was 10 years old, or for 24 years now! I was flailing on my skateboard one day and they said I "looked like a wet noodle in the wind," and the rest is history. I've tried to go by my real name, for professional reasons, but most still call me by my nickname, which I still embrace. I am 34 years young, have a wife named Lindsay, and an incredibly cute & sweet daughter named Ava. They are my life and what I live and work for each and every day. My daughter has a disease called GERD, which stands for Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease,(www.infantrefluxdisease.com), and she's had 4 surgeries within a 1 year period to help correct it (Sept 13 and Oct.17 th of last year, Aug.12th, 2007, Sept 27, 2007), and a feeding tube/intestinal, G-J Tube was added, to help her get the nutrition she needs to grow, physically and mentally. Ava just had her 5th major surgery to fix a major hernia, fixed her 1st Fundoplication surgery, did some exploritory surgery to look at a vascular ring constricting her esophogus, and obtained muscle and skin biopsies. They had to open her up for this one and she has about an 8 inch incision scar on her belly for life, but we hope to finally get a diagnosis and some answers to what is going on with Ava. Ava is the strongest and bravest person I know. She is truely inspirational and has really been put through the ringer at such a young age. It's been a roller coaster ride from day one and our work is still cut out for us, and she's still considered medically disabled and also failure to thrive by our pediatricans. It's going to be very long road in her recovery. We've exhausted most of the resources of All Children's Hospital in St.Pete and we went to Cincinnati, to start a new round of testing with new technology in March 2008 and she has a new team of 5 Doctors there to help us find out what is really going on, so we are optimistic that they will be able to help my Ava feel better, one day. Ava was diagnosed with a Mitochondrial Disease, Complex III in early May 2009. We now know what we are up against and can move forward. There is no cure and it is a progressive disease that can only be slowed down by a vitamin cocktail, and we have to goto Boston for her treatment when we have the money to do so. It is my mission in life to one day help her feel better and grow up to be a normal healthy kid. I have finally been awarded the AMS Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society, Seal #1772. Hopefully now (or the near future) I can get another TV weatherman gig, in a larger TV market, and make some decent money doing so. I worked in TV for a year at a local ABC affiliate in Sarasota,FL, and was a great experience, for my 1st tv job. I also used work 2 days a week (weekend weatherman at SNN Local News 6), and had plentiful air-time on a fill-in basis, for just over 2 years and was replaced in June 2009. I'm waiting tables at Carrabba's to support my family until I can find another tv job somewhere. I still ride skateboards from time to time, and I still stick to my punk rock roots of music. I miss the days of my old band, the Mudmen, so if any of you out there have any existing copies of our music or videos, please contact me, and I'll gladly pay for it! Take care and be easy with.

Hey you!!! Silly man, it's BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND!!! Ick. I'm working all effin weekend and it's gonna be busy! He left Sunday morn before the ass crack of dawn, but will be back Xmas eve.
