On a road trip to Atlanta (to check out a Rooney and Keane show) on June 18, 2004 three best friends decided that they wanted to be a band.
Nooner is a 3-piece all girl rock band who are from Sussex, England.
Okay okay, scratch that.
So maybe they're not exactly from England but they do often use pseudo British accents and all three share a common love for The British Invasion, 80's hair bands, and classic rock...
The Beatles, Journey, Aerosmith, The Kinks, The Turtles, and Queen are just a few favorites.
You'll probably hear them reciting lines from the best movie ever "Napoleon Dynamite". Gosh!
Just what does NOONER sound like?
Well, picture this:
Joan Jett is having a party. She invites Pat Benetar, Suzi Quatro, the Go Go's, and the Bangles. They have a few drinks consisting of some Rolling Stones, a CLASH of a QUEEN, and some VIXEN.
Throw in a pinch, just a small pinch, of a Dixie Chick for some twang.
They invite some cute boys over called Paul, Ringo, George, and John.
Rooney and The Like show up too.
ALL of that combined is what Nooner sounds like.
Alright, so that was probably the weirdest thing you've ever heard.

You'll probably often see Nooner listed as NOONERrock. Why? Well, there's already a band named Nooner. So until the Nooner girls find a new name for themselves, this is who they'll be.
Note to readers: the OTHER Nooner are cool guys. They know about THIS Nooner (NoonerRock) and think they're lovely. Okay, so they never actually SAID that they were lovely. But...they're cool with the whole name sharing thing...for now. Those guys are also a pop/rock/indie band. You should check them out.
As of the beginning of 2006...and continuing into 2008, Nooner are on a slight hiatus.
No no, dont worry. They aren't about to break up or anything of the sort. However, don't hold your breath for a tour anytime soon...or even a recording for that matter. The girls live several hours apart and aren't able to be together to do that sort of thing right now. But they have great excuses!
Whit-James graduated from Full Sail in August 2006, and is living in Los Angeles now working full time in the music industry. No, she's not a studio drummer. She is working at CAA. Perhaps the west coast will see Nooner Rock someday.
Birdie resides in Charlotte, NC rooming with Moorey. She is finishing up school at UNCCharlotte and works in a photo lab. She was in charge of her school's concert committee and brought in great acts. She wants to continue that kind of work, and enter the music industry to do booking/promotions or management.
She also works on booking and promoting bands for Triple S Booking & Promotions.
Moorey lives in downtown Charlotte with Birdie (right next to Panthers stadium!!) where she is a banker by day but still a rocker by night. Job 2 keeps her busy with Triple S Booking & Promotions, a company she started with Birdie and their friend Sunny. She eventually wants to work in the music industry full time booking and promoting bands and/or photographing them.
