No Power Towers is dedicated to stopping Dominion Virginia Power from seizing property in order to construct hundreds of fifteen-story industrial high-voltage transmission power lines, creating a forty-mile scar across Virginia’s scenic landscapes, Civil War sites, farms, wineries and forests.
To date, there is no proof Virginia needs this transmission line project. A 10-year outlook by the North American Electric Reliability Council found that power capacity in Virginia is “not a reliability concern at this time.”
Furthermore, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy reports Virginia ranks in the bottom ten states in regards to efficient use of energy and suggests that Virginia can do better.
No Power Towers encourages Dominion Virginia to seek energy alternatives and the state of Virginia to adopt energy policies that encourage efficiency.
No Power Towers is made possible by Virginians for Sensible Energy Policies (VSEP), a coalition of local groups, Dominion Virginia ratepayers, families, farmers, workers and citizens of all ages.
