Sounds Like
...good dark electronic music in the good old times...
"The debut album of this German duo is really worthy of examination. Nordschlacht avoids any cheap cliché, but concentrate on its very own electronic sounds. Comparisons are mostly unavoidable, but I now and then perceive some elements reminding me of Noise Unit (like some of the sequences) and other atmospheric parts and rhythmic evoking early Delerium. Tracks like “String Theory (Album mix)” and “Determine” are a bit Noise Unit-like especially for the mix of great atmospheric parts mixed with the rhythmic. “Strokes” is for sure a song that will bring you to Delerium (without the chant of the monks, but with a comparable sexy rhythmic and tantric atmosphere). The atmospheric aspect of this album is really important. It for sure characterizes the sound of Nordschlacht, which seems to have been conceived with love and passion resulting in some irresistible sounds and tones. Nordschlacht surprises especially for a debut-cd. A few other tracks I have to mention are “Forrester” for the great deep bass line and the spooky vocals, “Existence” for the darker side of the song and “Adrenalin Overdose” for another great bass line reminding to The Klinik. Both musicians involved in Nordschlacht had been active in several previous projects and this experience is for sure pure benefit for their commitment under the Nordschlacht moniker. A last and important element of this release are the mainly spooky vocals, which totally fit to the global mood and style of the music. Nordschlacht will probably not invade many dancefloors, but sounds like being made for the living rooms. A real interesting newcomer!"

I'm happy to announce that my new album "Songs From The Films Of David Lynch" is out now.
"Truly unsettling and perplexingly brilliant... testament to both the quality of Lynch’s soundtracks and Truax’s talents" - The Skinny
"Truax is paying homage to a kindred spirit with this album. It's the best kind of tribute – affectionate and respectful, but with its own quirks and imaginative leaps and its own distinct identity." -The Scotsman
