HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! And a happy one it's truly starting out to be... I won Best Actress in my category at AMTC, was awarded a scholarship to study at the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts this summer, I'm working on a pilot, prepping for an indie feature, and I'm still alive and well to experience yet another year of following my dreams... what else can a girl ask for?

First off, let me just say that I LOVE and APPRECIATE all of you for taking this ride with me, and understanding just how much this dream means to me...
When I make my third mil (because the 1st two will go to SHOPPING, fam, and charity) you all get to split it haha...
Anywho, had a great holiday! I starred in a major production, "Christmas in the City", at the World Changers Dome in Atlanta. Also had a ball in Maryland with the fam (see my "Holiday 2008" picture album). And all this week, I'll be competing in AMTC, with 500 other contestants.
It's an international actors and models competion that's scouted by dozens of the top agents and casting directors for film, television, and print. And you must audition to attend. Well, I'll be on a plane bright and early tomorrow and headed to Orlando for this monumental event in my career. And I'll be competing in monologue, scene read, cold read, tv commercial, photography, and creative runway categories.
Many thanks to all my sponsors and supporters - Mom, Dad, Beans, Mike H, Uncle Scotty, Mike Lee, Juice, Chaz, Priest, Deitrick Haddon, and Jason Geter of Grand Hustle! A big shout to AGI Performing Arts for making it all possible! And thank YOU in advance for your prayers! I'm claiming this event to be a turning point in my career...
*Much love*

Atlanta, it was exactly one year ago that I fell in love with you, on this very same BET hip-hop awards weekend in '07... And 365 days later, I'm STILL in love with you! Even moreso, because I see that you love this actress chick from Baltimore right back... I don't think that this particular weekend will ever disappoint. And now, after three days without sleep, I'm going to crawl into my bed, half-comatose, and dream about you. I swear, you make it hard for me to leave...

You guys are pure dopeness... I woke up to a seriously blue Monday, but you all in your own way made my day sooo special. It couldn't have ended any better! Thank you - Beanie for the acoustics, Deitrick for the "Happy" song dedication, Kenny for the studio vibes and letting me be "A&R" for a day, Trey Songz for the prayer and the "mushmouth" email, and Scrappy, JV, and Jonathan for just hitting a sista up... It's like you guys felt me, and just came. Now I'm smiling.

It's always a good feeling when your hard work pays off, and today, NV's a happy camper... Remember the showcase I performed in back in July? Well, one of the most reputable agents on the East Coast came to watch us perform, invited me in for a meeting last week, and today, they signed me. I'm really happy about it and am SO looking forward to working with them. Step by step, I'm makin' it happen, and I'm glad you all are hanging in here with me!

Those who know me, know how I've been very particular about making music video appearances. But this past week I accepted a very special request to work with Dietrick Haddon on the set of "It's Raining". Beautiful experience. Make sure you guys check out his new CD, "Revealed". It's actually hot!
What else have I been up to? Hmmm. Well, for the past two months I've been traveling between L.A., NY, Miami, and ATL. L.A. was rejuvenating, Miami was dope, and NY is always hectic! Business and pleasure on all fronts, and good times were had by all...
Right now I'm recovering from strep throat, working on three film projects, a stage production, a live showcase, and still auditioning wherever my feet land! And as always, thanks for the love... for real.

I’m sitting in my favorite Manhattan Café right now, kicking back for a minute before I head back to the airport. Last week I was in Atlanta recovering from a car accident and a showcase performance, last night I was in L.A. moving with the earthquake, this morning I arrived in NY for an audition, and tonight, I’ll be back in LA for a couple weeks before I head back to the “A” to attempt to capture an opportunity that I’ve been praying for. Life for me these days is fast, and crazy, and hectic, and blessed… ever changing, ever evolving. And hey, everybody… thanks for the love.

Look for me on episode #15 of Atlanta Homicide, Season 1 (or Atlanta Investigations, depending upon where it airs), and very possibly on the second season as well (I'll keep you all posted)... The series goes nationwide on Comcast July 2nd, Colours TV. I'm also filming an Indie called "4 Minutes", currently in production, and will be playing the character of "Valencia".

Hiii. I guess I've neglected this section for a minute huh? *smile*
Well I've just been auditioning up and down the East Coast, rehearsing for upcoming projects, moving permanently to another state, writing, re-focusing, learning who all these strange people really are around me (even if they've been around a while), living, and loving...

What a pleasantly spontaneous weekend I just had "up north". I'm back in ATL now, but my last few days will go down in the memory books as the weekend of dancing in Atlantic City with the first "non-voting constituents" EVER (lol), toll booth confessions, Londel's in Harlem, cold reads, Wyclef, Lyfe, tortellini, and pseudo therapy sessions with one of the performing art's greats.
Oh yeah, and the bitter NJ/NY cold!

Hell
oooo Atlanta! I'm baaaack :-)
And Happy New Year, all! Got a few exciting things going on at the top of this year... I was invited to write a monthly column for allhiphop.com's film and television section, documenting my personal experiences on "the road to stardom", and I've been working on my first article. Stay tuned for more about that. I'm also shooting a print ad campaign for LRG clothing company this week, and that's pretty cool. Aside from that (and trying to kick my 5-hour-a-night ipod/blackberry addiction) it's back to rehearsals and readings for my next film. I'm really excited about this project, but since it's still in the pre-production and prepping stages, there'll be more on that later as well... So the kid is keeping busy, staying out of trouble, and constantly in training to be the best actress that I can be. So here's to 2008 - the year of catalytic happenings!

Just wrapped up filming "The Reckoning". Taking a little break back home in MD with the fam. Headed back to the "A" in a couple weeks to work on another film project, a print ad campaign, and to continue training with my acting coach. Life is good. No complaints... Forever I love Atlanta.

Today began on such a high for me. I hung out with my cast for the first time, and it felt like we'd known each other for years. Definitely a one-of-a-kind crew...
Now, I just want to say that some of us may never know or understand the pain that drives a tortured soul to take their own life. We loved you Kenny. We still do. Whatever it was, I pray that you have found rest from the burden that became much too heavy last night. I pray that you are free.
(11/24/07)
I'm back here in Atlanta until Christmas filming an independent psycho-thriller called "The Reckoning". I hate it when I'm not in front of the camera every waking moment, so of course, I'm excited to get started... Hope all of you are living well out there and had a great Thanksgiving. My apologies for not being able to respond to messages and comments right away, but I personally read each and every one of them and I truly thank everyone for their kind words and support. Positivity is never ignored by me...

I don't know how, but each weekend I have in a different time zone gets more adventurous than the last. One of these days, I just might
blow from the intesity of it all, lol. But I'm wrapping up my BET Hip Hop awards weekend down in the "A" before I head home to MD/DC for a short visit, then to New York for auditions, back home for another audition, and then back to Atlanta again to film (which I might as well start calling HOME!) What a weekend... I'm just thankful that I managed through it safely and productively, and am leaving having vibed with the most amazing artists. Viva la "Compound", "5000 One's" video set, the "Intercontinental", and the dozens of paths that I crossed in between!! It's a good life.

What an
amazing weekend in "America's Finest City" - the energy, vibes, conversations, connections, laughs, highs, music, mischief, beauty... there are truly no words. But I want to thank you guys (you know who you are!) for bringing me into the fam and making me feel like a rockstar too ;-)

Been in L.A. for the past week and a half. Gonna be here for another two weeks or so. Just gearing up to film my scenes in "The Dark Party" with Kadeem Hardison (who happens to be cool as a fan by the way)... Looking forward to getting back to the East Coast when this project is over, and to Atlanta especially. I'm really excited about my project there, and as always, I'll be glad to catch up with my ATL buds.

I'm gonna have to stop reporting where I am, lol. A week and half ago I was in L.A, last week I was in Atlanta, came home to MD on Monday, and in a couple of weeks I have to be in L.A. again. Everyone is confused and no one can keep up, including me! lol... So just know that during the month of September, I'll be filming two different projects on two different coasts, and at any given time I could be in your time zone... or not!
Nuts right?? But I love it :-)

I'm sitting on the set of "The Last Score" right now waiting for my turn to film, and I'm just thinking...God how I wish I could post ALL of my L.A. memoirs here! But my headshot/resume just happens to have my myspace URL on it, and well, hey....lol... Just take my word for it folks, this past month has been one wild, amazing, lucky, coincidental, insane, hilarious, offensive, productive, cursed and blessed ride! And really, I'm thankful for
all of it. Among many many other things, I found out that I can sing my little heart out under pressure (who knew??
Amazing Grace at that! haha) and that, as big sis keeps telling me, I'm more of a "cliff jumper" than I thought I was... But I get to come HOME on Monday for a few days (yipee!), and I must say that there is NOTHING like the East Coast. Then I head off to Atlanta again for a little while (yipee times TWO!), and then it's BACK here, to the city of angels... Did somebody say angel? *snicker*

Life, for me, has been one fortunate string of "right place, right time" happenings. Yesterday, I accidently walked right into the middle of an audition, and they insisted that I read for them. Wild huh? Who knows if I'll land the movie, but it's SAG feature film, which is way cool, and I also met the greatest talent coordinator/booking agent who hooked me up with some priceless advice and contacts... and possibly another audition for another SAG feature next week. ;-)

Well, my first week in L.A. has consisted of working out, voice lessons, discovering "Pollo Loco", and painting the city red with folks here for the BET awards. The last of them left town today, so next week, I
focus. What a lovely distraction they were though! :-)

I had NO idea that the Heimlich Maneuver worked on dogs, but I'm sure glad that it does! I almost lost my puppy this morning :-(
We were out for a walk when he came running back up to me choking. He stopped breathing, fell on his side, and started foaming at the mouth. I panicked for a split second, and then I grabbed his back, put my hand under his abdomen, and pulled it up with one really hard thrust... and out pops a two-inch long chicken bone with a VERY sharp point, along with one of his teeth!
What does he do? He gets up, shakes his ears and starts playing again. While I'm standing there ready to shed tears like a big baby, lol. He took it better than I did - he's STILL taking it better than I did!

Such is the ethical life of an actor...
I had to turn down the film in Atlanta. I'd be double booked because the principle photography days fall on the EXACT same days as the film I landed about a month ago and started this past weekend. And it's just not cool to back out on a project you've already committed to, leaving the director/producer/cast high and dry, and costing them time and money. But I can't be too bummed out, because like big sis said, "That's a good problem to have, Noree. The alternative is no work at all." True. Very true... And hey, at least I landed it. That's an accomplishment in itself. And maybe one of these days, when I reach 'Audrey Hepburn status' (lol), entire productions can be worked around my schedule. Imagine that! Sooo, I wish that production much success, and I appreciate being their first choice. And I'm quite sure that this is just the first of many difficult decisions that lie ahead on this journey...
But hey, I have so much love for the "A" (seriously), and some very special friends down there, so I'll be back SOON. I definitely plan to stay in the audition circuit!
In other news (<-- lol), L.A. here I come! I head out on June 21st, right after I wrap up the film I just started in DC, and will be gone for about a month. I have some pretty groovy things lined up on the "left coast", so stay tuned. Well, I'm going to cuddle with my puppy now. He missed me!

I just got the call. AND I LANDED A LEAD ROLE IN THE FILM I AUDITIONED FOR IN ATLANTA! Soooo, off I go to the south again! Meanwhile, here in DC (lol), I start filming a brand new independent feature tomorrow. Two Film Projects + One Me = a VERY Busy Flight Schedule. My head is spinning right now. Man... when my sister said that this life moves fast, she wasn't kidding! I'll have more to write when I'm done processing. I think. lol... Wow.

I swear life is in fast forward for me! I just got home from my "audition tour" early this morning. New York was a little overwhelming and stressful, but once I got to Atlanta, things eased up a bit for me. And before I even left, I received a call-back for the audition I had there - so I came home today, got beautiful (you know, the whole hair and pedicure thing, lol) and I'm headed back to Atlanta tomorrow morning. Being there this past week was a blast though!
In addition to my gracious host (thanks Mikey

), positive audition experience, and tour of the southernly hospitable city, I got to reeeally "party like a rockstar" with some very cool and very famous friends at The Velvet Room.
If I could only put that night into words, lol...
Do I smell a relocation on the horizon? We shall see... :-)
Gotta go pack now... AGAIN! Wish me luck!

What a day... So you guys will have forgive me if I pass out in the middle of typing this, lol. Of course I didn't sleep a wink last night because of my audition this morning (which I feel REALLY good about, by the way!) And right after my audition in Baltimore, I had to rush to Reagan National to pick up the newest addition to my family - a 4th generation Blue Ribbon pure pedigree Dachshund. I named him O'lee! All I can say is that it was love at first sight, but BOY is he SPOILED! A match made in heaven, I suppose. :-)
