Norfmentis was formed, back in the little area of the Pond Of the Grand Hillside of Mascouche, by a bunch of kids who had the big desire to use their talents to create and play another form of Folk Metal. They had a more psycho and experimental view of the style, but didn't want to recreate another genre, as their first view was a Folk Metal band. The name was found by Francis, who had the idea to use the combination of the North traditinal Folk music, harder and harsher, with the great Folk music based upon the spiritism, seen in many country - from where "mentis" means "mind", or "thought" - This where the first influences was born: The cold as ice north folklore and a deeper influence of many culture folk music (As the asian, or russian, norwegian, scandinavian, native american folk influences).
The first Demo (If we can name it this way) - "A Night..." - is an experimental concept album, a very personal album made by Kevin. It consists of an incursion into his mind, visiting every parcel of his influences for what will become a real album (Because, for sure, "A Night..." isn't a real album.)
The idea to create this concept demo was first to test the equipements - which is not real equipement... it's more like: A Roland Keyboard, the oldest computer ever seen and a computer mic... - but also to find musician to create what will become a real album. The project of Norfmentis is a folk Metal band, and this conceptual demo isn't really metal...
Norfmentis now need a Drummer, a Bassist and a Singer. As we want the music to be deeper, an Accordeonist and/or a Flutist would be appreciable.

Norfmentis fut formé, de retour aux environs de l'étang du Grand Coteau de Mascouche, par un petit groupe de gamin qui avait le désir d'utiliser leurs talent pour créer une nouvelle sorte de Folk Metal. Ils avaient un vision plus psycho et expérimental du style mais ne désiraient pas recrée un nouveau genre, car il gardaient tout de même la notion de "Folk Metal" comme notion de base. Le nom "Norfmentis" fut trouvé par Francis qui eut l'idée d'utiliser la combinaison du Folk traditionnel du Nord, plus dure et froid, avec la musique folkorique dites spirituel entendu dans plusieurs culture - d'où le "mentis" qui signifie "esprit". C'est de là que sont née les principale influence: Le froid glaciale du nord et la profondeur du folkloroe de plusieurs culture (Comme l'influence asiatique, russe, scandinave ou encore celle des tribus amérindiennes.)
Le premier Demo (Si on peut le nommer ainsi) - "A Night..." (Une nuit...) - est un album concpet plus experimental, un album très personel créé par Kevin. Il consiste en une incursion dans son esprit, visitant chaque parcelle de ces influences qui deviendra (nous l'espérons) un vrai album. (Puisqu'évidement "A Night..." n'est pas un vrai album en soi.
L'idée de crée ce demo concept était tout d'abord pour tester l'équipement - qui n'est pas un vrai équipement... il s'agit plutôt d'un clavier Roland, tu plus vieils ordinateur existant et d'un micro d'ordinateur... - mais égallement pour trouver des musiciens (En démontrant ainsi que nous somme sérieux). Le projet de Norfmentis étant un band de Folk Metal, vous comprendrai que l'album n'est qu'on "Side Project" de départ, n'étant lui même pas Metal.
Le groupe a maintenant besoin de musicien. Nous avons besoin d'un batteur, un bassiste et un chanteur. Comme nous voulons une musique plus poussé et plus profonde, on accordéoniste et/ou un flutiste est également le bienvenue. (Un contrebassite, plutôt qu'on bassiste, ce serait bien aussi.
