Music
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My myspace music and books section has been screwed up since I made my page, so let's see if it works now.
THAT should be a picture of Garth Brooks up there. He's by far my favorite singer. There is a lot of music I enjoy, but my favorite guy is Garth. I've seen him a handful of time, traveling further and further each time- he's worth it!
I also like Irish/Celtic music. I LOVE soundtracks. New age type music... Blackmore's Night, Searson, Thin Lizzy, Gaelic Storm, The Poor Claires, Fin Tan, New Element, Leahy, The Dixie Chicks, Jewel, Enya, The Beatles, The Killers, Evanescence, System of a Down, Rob Zombie, Homeland, Fin Tan, The Coors, Dido, Josh Groban, Paul Potts, Norah Jones, Sissel, Damien Rice.
I like a lot of bands other people have never heard of :)
a-ha was is and always will be my favorite band,ever.
While I'm at it, let me say this. Some people tease me about my "loves," like Garth, The X-Files, and my favorite movies I can watch over and over again and books I reread, saying I'm too passionate about that which I love. But- I'm loyal. I'm not a fly by night fan, friend or love. Once I'm in it, I'm in it forever~ unless you give me a damn good reason to get out of it.
Movies
Let it be known that I am the HUGEST (yes and as my younger sister tells me, dorkiest) "Pirates of the Caribbean" fan in the world. Well, maybe not the world, but close. I live half of my life in my head, daydreaming... imagining~ and the Pirate movies increased that to about 75% of the time because I am now constantly dreaming about situations of a piratical nature. These movies are escapism at its best! The only book I've actually managed to fully write past the half way point is an adventure novel that is pirate inspired, and I'm still plugging away~ I have a sneaky suspicion that Captain Jack might be just the inspiration I need to actually finish... I firmly believe that Captain Jack Sparrow is the most clever, refreshing, charming, scheming, dashing, sly, witty, handsome... shall I go on? His character is spectacular, and no one could have brought to life this endearing pirate captain other than Johnny Depp. *insert large sigh here*
Ahhh... Bridget Jones. Bridget and I are BFF, in case you didn't know. Oh yeah, we're as thick as thieves, the two of us. Bridget has helped me through many a tough time in my life, and for that I own her a nice fancy dinner party with plenty of wine.
Mark Darcy~ "I like you, very much."
Bridget Jones~ "Ah, apart from the smoking and the drinking, the vulgar mother, oh and the verbal diarrhea..."
Mark Darcy~ No, I like you very much. Just as you are."
Other movies:
Dear Frankie, Phantom of the Opera (2004,) Signs, The Holiday, Love Actually, Finding Neverland, Stranger than Fiction, The X-Files: Fight the Future, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws, The Shining, The Neverending Story, Legend, 300, Titanic, Quills, The Village, Walk the Line... more when I think of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I adore Kate Winslet. She is the epitome of what a woman should be- bright, strong and beautiful, especially inside!
Television
I'm not much of a fan of television. My favorite show was, is, and always will be The X-Files. I never completely got over the break up between myself and Scully and Mulder~ we were an odd little threesome, but it worked for a good nine years. I lived for Friday nights (originally) and they never let me down. Then they changed our dates to Sundays, and it took away the dread of having to go to work the following morning because I didn't think about work. No, instead I thought of societal paranoia, government conspiracy, the monster of the week club, and the chemistry between the two best FBI agents in the world. Oh yeah, and aliens. Can't forget the aliens!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just remember the next time you might see a crop dusting... if you or anyone near you afterward begins to have paranoid delusions of evil clowns working as a cashier at the local Walmart, you may have been a part of a government experiment testing the results of some airborne alien virus that inspires paranoid delusions. I mean, maybe...
Usually when I enjoy a new TV show it is soon taken off the air. I love sci-fi shows about monsters, aliens, parallel universes, etc., but those ideas are not popular now. I LOVED "Invasion" from a few seasons ago, but they cut it after one season~ said it was "too expensive" to create. "Surface" was good too, but that did not last longer than one season either. A long time ago there was a great show called "American Gothic" that is now replaying on "Chiller," the horror channel. "American Gothic" only lasted a few seasons too. Right now the only TV I watch is "The 4400" and WWE wrestling, which is on almost every night of the week so I'm never at a loss for stimulating television. LOL.
Books
Too Many To List~ I need some time to think about this one BUT I need to make sure to highlight a Very Good Book that was just released. Third in The Bewitching Mystery Series that combines mystery with paranormal suspense (mixed with a little dose of hubba hubba if you know what I mean,) "No Rest for the Wiccan" is a wonderfully delightful new book written by my friend Madelyn Alt. I look forward to November for the release so I can tear through it like the three before it!!!
Hello! Welcome to my little space on the web! As you can see, I have many of hobbies and interests that keep me very busy. I'm a lampwork bead artist and a writer. For those of you who don't know what "lampworking" is but would like to know, I'll explain. Lampworking is an age old practice dating back to ancient times. Glass is heated in a flame and then wound onto a metal mandrel to create a bead which is then in turn decorated with different colors to create an elaborate small piece of art. Glass bead making, AKA lampworking, is a trade and art form that is highly valued throughout the world. Now, a few years after I melted my first rod of glass, I am thoroughly addicted to making glass beads and jewelry. So yes, whenever I get a free minute I'm in front of the flame, getting my face way too close~making my already "rosy" cheeks even more pink~and I try not to burn my eyebrows off my face! It's elemental and amazing to create with glass and fire! **If you are interested in owning your own unique one-of-a-kind wearable piece of art, contact me! I love creating custom order work.**
I have ONE major personal goals for my life. To write a book and get it published. I've written the book, now I just have to finish editing it, find an agent and get my book published!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The inspiration for my beads comes from the beauty of nature, especially the Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as the northern lights. I've had the awesome opportunity to experience the northern lights while visiting northern Minnesota, and watching the lights is an unforgettable, unexplainable experience. On father's day 2002 my family and I saw a show of lights that amazed even the locals, and I would list it as one of the top five best experiences in my life. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of that night, but I've listed some of my favorite photos from the 'Net below.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~If you are interested in seeing the northern lights for yourself, make sure to visit www.spaceweather.com for northern lights alerts. Two years ago we saw a very strong show right here in Northwest Indiana, a half hour from Chicago!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a picture of Ely, Minnesota, the area where I have seen the northern lights. I visit Ely almost every year, and there is a reason why they call it "God's Country." I never feel more peaceful, calm and content than when I am up north. Shagawa Lake is amazingly gorgeous. I'm drawn to water in all forms~ lakes, streams, rivers, oceans- even a good bath! So the more I can be surrounded by water, the happier and more content I am!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some of my other interests are reading, writing, cooking/baking and spending time with my wonderful husband and our two cats~ and yeah, I like to fish too. I have a full-time job too so everything keeps me very busy! I am a hopeful "author to be," and I have two manuscripts I work on when the mood strikes. Now I just need to get one of them finished! *smile* I have always been interested in the paranormal and all things that go "bump in the night."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It should go without saying then that Halloween is my favorite holiday! I am drawn to the ethereal, and I believe in concepts others find unbelievable. I refuse to live my life with a limited imagination or stunted system of beliefs so I am very open-minded. For me, living any other way would make for an unproductive and boring life.
Can't forget the "black cat!"
Who I'd like to meet: Ok ok, I have to admit the person I want to meet the most is an actor. Cheesy but true. But for all the ladies reading this, wouldn't you want to meet him too????
Gerard Butler. Scottish. Talented. Beautiful. Did I mention Scottish?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gerard played the part of The Phantom in the 2004 movie version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera." He was, of course, magnificent as The Phantom.
"Dear Frankie," a must-see heart-warming little film. Rent it. I promise you'll thank me later.
What's that? You want MORE? Well... ok, maybe just one ;)
The man is as intense as he is sexy...
I do know. Choosing a name is such a personal thing. One of my other girlfriends is due in July and she's going with Cooper, which is cute. We made huge lists for her. But yeah, I hate to go with the latest trendy thing and not something that you really like or that means something to you both. Do you have the baby name books?
