lots of instruments played in a cave somewhere in another dimension, but you can still hear the real world faintly if you listen carefully.
Some have said it reminds them of Xmas time in a well, or possibly Gladiators riding over the hill (once they had escaped obviously)...
This Is My Normal State is a post-rock/ambient band from Bristol, South West England. Formed in October 2008, the band has just finished recording it’s debut EP: Angel Falls (march 2009).
Taking influences from bands such as Sigur Rós, Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You, Mono, Mogwai and Joy Wants Eternity to name a few, the band create a sound-scape of interlocking melodies, typified by the use of reverb drenched guitar loops, and the fragile, ethereal vocals.
Now available on the Lost Children netlabel is our re-mastered version of Angel Falls EP, Angel Falls++. It features updated versions of Number 3 and Angel Falls, plus new track, Phineas Gage. Download it for FREE here!
I'm nowhere near Bristol, unfortunately. I'm living in Canterbury now and moving to Sheffield in September.. But I could send you some money for p&p? I've seriously had your tracks on repeat since getting them. I'd like to put you on down this way too, if you'd like? We can discuss more in a message, but I'm basically hoping to do something towards the end on August before I move up North.
Oh wow. From 5:40 on 'Angel Falls'. That crescendo gives me goosebumps. I downloaded the tracks from last.fm, but I really hope to own a physical copy of this someday.
I really don't comment other musician's pages very often, but I was that moved by the track, I had to tell you.
