The Northeast has the seeds of a real musical community, but only one publication that tries to pull it together and spread the word about music all along the coast. We want people in Maine to hear about music in Connecticut, and we want good bands from Vermont to have a fighting chance in Boston. Every week some amazing band from another city or another state is playing a basement in your town, and fifteen people are getting their minds blown. Be one of them. Performer is a magazine for independent musicians. Our mission is to supply our readership with motivating interviews and the kind of industry information they need to get ahead. We cover bands and solo artists based on the Northeast who are either unsigned or signed to an independent label. All styles of music are fair game, from country to funk to hip-hop to nu-tribal-klezmer-core as long as there's something innovative going on.
While Performer is dedicated to promoting all genres of independent music, this profile is for the Northeast edition, so we are only interested in making friends with musicians, studios, labels, etc. in the Northeast community. We will not be able to add bands or music-related businesses that are not part of the region. Personal profiles from all over are welcome!
American Idol Finalist season #5 Ayla Brown www. aylabrown. com will be a special guest on Debra Crosby's Talent Quest TV Show on Mon., Aug. 18. The show, which airs on Beverly, Mass., local access cable television, is billed as "the stepping stone to the stars." On the show, Ayla will perform some of her original songs.
