About me:
Northern Animal Rights Coalition (NARC) was set up to connect animal rights groups an individuals in the north of England. If you see any information about upcoming demos you'd like to go to, or know of any that we haven't mentioned, please contact us. We can arrange transport, meetings, etc. and put you in contact with others who are also active.
Current targets in the north include:
- Proctor & Gamble - massive company who still test their household products on animals!
- Covance - animal testing lab based in Harrogate
- Flamingo Land - theme park proud of the fact they imprison wild animals
- Pet shops and breeders of animals - there are so many animals needing homes in shelters and sanctuaries and animals being abandoned. Pet shops and breeders are making the problem worse!
- Greyhound Race Tracks - Sunderland, Newcastle, Chester-le-Street and Kinsley
- William Hill - owns Newcastle and Sunderland race tracks and supports the greyhound abuse financially
- Gosforth Horse-Racing Track (Newcastle)

- Keeping an eye out for restaurants selling foie gras
- Cruise, a fashion store selling items of fur. They are also now killing pigeons!
- Hunt sab groups are being set up and actions against shooting have also taken place
- Circuses with animals when on tour up here will have regular demos

Who I'd like to meet:
Any animal rights groups who would like to be connected to others.
Anyone interested in getting involved with campaigns, going veggie/vegan or anyone who would just like more info on animal rights.
Bands or venues who would like someone to do a stall at a gig. This is a great way of getting information to people about animal rights and we always have a great response from people!
Anyone who knows of an animal being abused or an unwanted animal, please don't hesitate to get in touch for advice or help from one of our campaigners!!
We also have contact with campaigners who do school talks on behalf of Animal Aid and Viva! They can be contacted through these organisations or through us on this page or at narconline@hushmail.com.
If you are a pupil or member of staff at a school in the north who would like someone to come in and do a talk/presentation on animal rights or a specific issue please get in touch!

Heyy :] I just recieved a message from Will, a friend of mine, and he told me about a couple of shops in Newcastle starting to sell fur again and also about some Sanofi demos... I was just wondering if you guys had anything planned.
I'm at Sunderland Uni now so it's far easier for me & some of my new friends to get across to Newcastle =]!
I'm free all week at the moment, but thurs-sunday wud probs be best for me, as there will be someone at home to look after the dogs then, cos i can't them alone for that long.
I'll get intouch soon once I've tried to sort something out.
not been upto much atm unfortunately, really wanna try n get the ga group going. i currently don;t have a job, so i'm always skint, and theres no way i can get to Sunderland every few weeks from here, it just costs too much. I was hoping to get a lift from me mam, and although she wants to help she is a bit busy atm, so its hard trying to organise something with her. so theres not much i can do :( but i'm sure i'll sort something out eventually, something really needs to be happening at atleast one of the local tracks, i just wish i lived closer or i'd be there every week!!

I can afford it, it's okay :) Just not like every weekend if there's only going to be 2 or 3 people that turn up kind of thing.

Not a lot really. A bit of hunt monitoring, a turkey rescue (see video on my profile) thats them safe in the sanctuary, a couple of stalls etc. Are you going to the march on 25th April in london if you are we will see ya there! x
Ermm... I can't get to Newcastle during the week but if there's something really big going on at the weekend then I may be able to make it... It costs about a fiver to get to Newcastle and back so I can only really afford it if there's something major going on, you get me? :]

Heyy, I'm a member of NEAR (North East Animal Rights) and also take part in Animal Rights with my college. I was just wondering if you have any resources - leaflets, stickers, badges, DVDs etc - that you would be able to send? We are in desperate need of anti-fur and hunting in particular but anything you may be able to send will be greatly appreciated.
