BIOGRAFIA

Nell'ottobre 2008 Francesca, appena conclusa l'avventura con gli Eternal Samhain, decide di fondare un nuovo gruppo in cui poter sviluppare la sua grande passione per il canto lirico. Riesce subito a trovare in Federico (batteria), Simone (chitarra) e Giacomo (tastiera) i primi compagni di avventura e presto la formazione è completata da Luca al basso. I problemi però non tardano ad arrivare: dopo appena un paio di mesi dall'inizio delle prove Federico (batteria), per motivi ignoti, decide di lasciare il gruppo. La ricerca di un nuovo batterista si rivela lunga e difficile; nel frattempo però il gruppo si dedica alla stesura di un paio di brani inediti e comincia a maturare l'idea di creare un sound nuovo che unisca il symphonic metal ad influenze più pesanti e tecniche quali il progressive ed il death metal. In gennaio però sorge un altro problema: Luca scopre di essere stato preso all'università di Glasgow, dove rimarrà a studiare per 4 anni, per cui la band decide subito di mettersi alla ricerca di un sostituto per rendere più rapida ed efficace la transizione. Fortunatamente un nuovo bassista, anche lui di nome Luca, si unisce molto presto al gruppo ed insieme a lui (finalmente!) il tanto cercato batterista, Enrico (già membro dei Whitesinners). In marzo la band decide il suo nome, Northern Gate. Attualmente sono in fase di stesura le canzoni del futuro demo del gruppo.

BIOGRAPHY

In late 2008 Francesca, who had just parted ways with Eternal Samhain, chose to begin a new project in which to develop her great passion for operatic singing. She readily found companions in Federico (drums), Simone (guitars) and Giacomo (keyboards) and soon also bassist Luca joined the band. Unfortunately, though, trouble wasn't far behind: Federico, for unknown reasons, decided to leave the band after just a few months of practice. While searching for a new drummer, which revealed to be no easy task, the remaining members began working on their own songs. Soon enough the band developed the idea of creating a new sound which combined symphonic metal with darker, heavier and technical influences such as progressive and death metal. In January another problem arose: Luca found out that he had been chosen to go to Glasgow for 4 years and attend university there. The band decided that it would be easier for everyone if they looked for a substitute immediately and they had a friendly parting of ways with Luca. Fortunately a new bass player, also named Luca, soon joined the band along with drummer Enrico. In March the band christened itself Northern Gate and began to write new material for their future demo.
