MySpace a place for friends

“When I was an early teenager, I would listen to bands like Blink-182, Dashboard Confessional, and Fall Out Boy, and what I remember most was when I’d listen, I would feel so uplifted and so passionate, regardless of what was going on in my life.” says North of the City frontman Chris Visconti. “In our music, we try to replicate how great our favorite music makes us feel, that’s all”.

From a small town in Pennsylvania, North of the City is also made up of Nick Visconti (Bass), Ace Hendrix (Drums), and Dani Cruz (Lead Guitar). And while they all have different musical backgrounds, they all equally take part in giving back to music what music had given them. It’s easy to see in the energetic, harmony laden brand-new single “How Many Lies”, and the dramatic, soulful temperament of “So You’re the One (Everybody’s Been Talking About), North of the City is giving back everything they’ve got - and leaving nothing for themselves.

It’s not easy for a band of young teenagers to learn the in’s and out’s of the music industry, but paying their dues in support of well-respected modern bands like Bayside, Cobra Starship, Matchbook Romance, and even Fall Out Boy has taught these boys how to play with the men, and it hasn’t been any other way since.

Catching the attention of record producer Rich Rescigno (Bigwig, Hidden In Plain View, Tokyo Rose), North of the City cut a four song EP entitled “Made for Arrivals”, which helped gain not only a faithful hometown fan base, but over 30,000+ friends on MySpace, and many great reviews.

While a full length, yet-to-be-titled album is in the works, North of the City is more determined then ever to take their music to anywhere it is welcome. “We’ll be doing some songs over from the EP to the full length”, chuckles Chris. “It’s going to be fun reinventing some of the fan favorites that helped us form what we are now”.
