Members of the choir are young people between school year 8 and.... well.... until you're quite old really!!! The members come from all over North Shropshire and Staffordshire with some members living in various regions of the country.
Influences
The youth choir perform many songs in many different styles ranging from classical pieces by Mozart and Handel to new songs by modern worship leaders Mark Beswick and Stuart Townend. The choir also perform some songs written by choir member Paul Savill who has written many songs over the past years including a whole musical about the easter story (3rd Day) which most of the choir members performed in the premier performance. The choir also lead worship and members of the choir form a worship band that tours with the choir leading worship in concerts and services. Worship songs raanging from the very old (Thine Be The Glory, And Can It Be and Shine, Jesus Shine) to the most modern worship material written by prolific song writers (In Christ Alone, See What A Morning and O To See The Dawn (Power Of The Cross))
The Youth Choir consists of young people from the age of 12 who enjoy travelling to different
churches and events to sing the Good news of Jesus, and the praises of God through modern and
traditional music.
The choir also provides an environment for the young people themselves to learn more about the
Christian faith and they are encouraged to bring their friends along too.
The choir members are not expected to be great singers (although it is a bonus if they are!), just
to be enthusiastic!
