weezer + jimmy eat world + foo fighters + sunny day real estate + radiohead + coldplay + the beatles + northside's sweet revenge...(really we don't know how the hell to describe it except music we love and hope you will too.)
Northside’s Sweet Revenge is a band with a simple mission...to make music that sticks around for awhile. Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Sam Wade, Jimmy Britton, Zack Long and Dave Czerny, are crafting music that never bows to the status quo while keeping their pop sensibility intact. On the first listen, it's impossible not to notice their ability to write a hook (that will be in your head for hours after the song is over), but if you dig past the melody, you'll find that the lyrical well runs deep. They are not afraid to explore some of the darker themes of humanity, while deciding to package them up in a deceivingly glossy package.
From their beginnings as singer/songwriters, Sam and Jimmy performed as solo acts around St. Louis for a time before deciding to join forces as Northside's Sweet Revenge. With addition of Zack they found an element that is not always present with a rock band (a bassist who refuses to hide in the background!) Along with Zack, the newest member of the band, Dave Czerny, lays down the solid backbone of the band. Dave is no stranger to the music industry having toured much of the USA and Europe in his previous projects. He brings a fresh perspective on the future sound of the band.
An NSR live show is an experience that sticks with you. Always trying to stay fresh, it's not uncommon for the songs to take on a whole new life on stage. From the anti-pop anthem "Radio is Wrong" to the searing "Coming Up For Air" and "All Bets Are Off", to the crowd favorite "The Recent Future", you can't help but be pulled into the exquisite madness that is Northside's Sweet Revenge.
NSR is ready and willing to take their music wherever it goes, and hopefully be a part of a new music resurgence in St. Louis. This is one band you'll want to watch!
