Sounds Like
Riding your beach crusier down the beach, with your surfboard. That's chill. You get into the water, that wakes you up. You catch a nice little wave...ahh that feels good. You're chillin in the ocean, sitting on your board watching dolphins, otters and pelicans...that's sweet. You see a BIG set coming in are able to paddle past one or two but the third one crashes on your head.....that was kinda hectic. Alas, you are still alive....it was actually kinda fun...and exhilerating. Then...you see the perfect sized wave for you, you meet it, paddle in and catch it. You're TOTALLY STOKED. No matter how long you stay in, you know you're gonna go kick it with your friends on the beach afterwards.
That's what listening to North Swell sounds like.

KEEPER -LIVE
North Swell is finding a unique balance between hard hitting REGGAE, INDIE-ROCK, and a healthy dose of RAP-MELODIC vocal expressions.
Leading the charge is front-man Lawrence Martinez (former lead singer of rock band SALMON) and significantly known as L-Train. Armed with his rapid-fire lyrical onslaught of vocal trills and his hard hitting energetic and crowd slamming presence on stage makes every performace one worth seeing.
On lead guitar and vocals is Jesse West (former lead singer of rock band INTRANSIT). Jesse brings in a wealth of live performance and songwriting skills to the table while balancing out the ever changing rhythmic diversity of the bands style. He exchanges explosive lyrical melodies with Lawrence adding a flavor and sound that is very unique and all its own.
Playing bass guitar is Santa Cruz local Michael Felix who also brings alot of energy and experience to the table! His exciting personality gives North Swell a solid balance and defining edge taking it to that next level.
Then there is Eric Z (aka E.Z. Sticks)...! He plays his guitar more like a psychodelic DJ than a traditional guitar player. His scratch DJ SkillZ coupled with his heavy guitar licks gives "The Swell" a defined edge.
Ben Vanderplas is the DRUMMER in the SWELL... and he is outta control with a pair of drum sticks in his hands. Ben loves playing the drums almost as much as he loves coming up with original drum beats to add to the sickness at our live shows. Ben is the newest addition, but by no means does it sound that way.
