Their early sound could be considered a combination of energetic rock and sinuous post rock. In six months, after having released an unofficial demo called “Kassyus Clay, We play!!!” - which was recorded and self-produced in a low-fi studio - the band decided to develop their sound adding electronic instruments and broadening their experimental side. Their following songs became more eclectic, more instrumental, more orchestrated and definitely less rock, paying attention on the harmony and the structure of the pieces. Inspired by some groups such as Stereolab, Tortoise, Cinematic Orchestra, Jagga Jazzist, and many other similar bands, Kassyus Clay sound can be described as an evocative, powerful, hypnotic melody, being like “a talking picture without pictures”.
