NSR aka “NOSUCHRULES”
In 1999, teenage brothers Richard Yarwood, playing guitar since the age of 9 and Brendon Yarwood, playing drums since the age of 10, formed NSR with a local bass player.
In , 2003 Richard and Brendon, as an “experiment,” added their talented sister, Bridgette, as the lead vocalist for a local ‘battle of the bands’ contest. With limited prior experience together, and, with only 3 weeks of rehearsal, NSR, with the stellar musicianship of the band and the dynamic vocals of Bridgette, they won the contest, which featured 18 bands. Almost immediately thereafter, with Bridgette voted in as a permanent member of the band, the song writing team of Richard, Bridgette and Brendon, started cranking out “hit” songs, many of which are posted on this site.
In the fall of 2006, their first release, “Far Removed From”, was recorded at Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver, owned by Roger and Bruce Levens, where Nickelback and other major bands have recorded hit albums. The album was produced by talented producer Jay “Juice” Evjans, who has produced albums for “signed” bands, such as Wide Mouth Mason and The Odds. In the fall of 2006, bass player Shane Bailey joined the band.
The band has made numerous appearances on Global TV, has had “airplay” of some of their songs by DJ Scott Magregor on radio station Rock106 and on other stations. The members of NSR are true “road warriors,” having played over 550 shows throughout the Pacific Northwest and successfully opening for “The Trews,” a band which has opened for such major artists as Robert Plant and Guns and Roses.
The members of NSR are dedicated musicians and songwriters and are committed to “make it” and “go all the way”. To assist in accomplishing this goal, NSR is pleased to announce that it has recently reached an agreement with Los Angeles based music attorney, J. William Nosel, for the “shopping” of NSR for a recording contract and for the licensing of NSR’s music in TV commercials, film and television.
