Not Dead Yet is a group of experienced musicians from the Chapel Hill / Hillsborough area. The band focuses on original tunes, tight harmony, and solid rhythm. We like to think that between us, we have about 130 years of playing music.
Bob Hartford is one of those guys who graduated UNC in the early 70’s and never found a place better than Chapel Hill to move to. Bob designs “green homes” and builds “green communities when he is not busy practicing or playing gigs with the band.
Bruce Wilks is a family practitioner in Carrboro, and is an integral part of that community. When he is not on call, or running the local trails with the “Trail Heads”, he is playing tunes with Not Dead Yet.
Elliot Galdy operates a local advertising firm. He has been singing soul and R&B since his teenage years, and gets better with every season.
Harris Marley started playing in a road band straight out of high school, and spent his early days touring the South doing the “Beach Music” scene. Playing tunes is just something that happens for Harris every day.
Bob and Bruce have written most of the material that Not Dead Yet performs. As a duo, they have produced two CD s in four years. Harris and Elliot joined the group in ’08, and a new dynamic formed that has played all over town. Solid rhythm and three part vocals are what it is all about. The group is currently putting together a new CD, release date to be announced soon.
