About me:
I'm Ed Miller, and I teach people to play poker at a professional level.
After I left college, I worked as a software developer at Microsoft. The job wasn't for me, though, and fortunately around the same time I picked up poker as a hobby. As I grew unhappy with my job, I got better at poker. By the time I left my job, I was good enough at poker to replace my engineer's salary at the tables.
When poker exploded in popularity in 2004, I decided that instead of playing full-time, I'd devote my time to teaching all the new players to do what I did: quit their jobs and play poker for a living.
I've written three books and made four DVDs all designed to turn you into a money-making machine at poker. Visit my webpage at notedpokerauthority.com for more about my books and DVDs.
For Beginners
Getting Started in Hold 'em is a primer aimed at someone who's seen poker on TV, but doesn't know much more about the game than that. In 204 easy pages, it teaches you the basic principles you need to hold your own at any hold 'em game: no limit, limit, or tournament. It won't turn you into a superstar overnight, but it will give you the edge on most of your opponents, even those with years of experience!
For Professional No Limit Hold 'em
No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice, co-authored with David Sklansky, is the definitive book on this super-hot game. It doesn't tell you "do this, don't do that"... instead it teaches you how to think about the game so you can make your own expert-level decisions every hand. Just released in June 2006, it has immediately become the #2 selling poker book on Amazon, cracking it's Top 50 books list and selling almost 25,000 copies in the first month! Don't let yourself be the only player in your game who hasn't read it.
For Professional Limit Hold 'em
Small Stakes Hold 'em: Winning Big with Expert Play, co-authored with David Sklansky and Mason Malmuth, was my first book, and it teaches you exactly how I think about and play limit hold 'em, the game I played for a living. It's now sold 100,000 copies, and when it came out in 2004, it spent a lot of time in Amazon's Top 50 books list. Small Stakes Hold 'em has taught countless people to become professional limit hold 'em players.
My Limit Hold 'em 4 DVD Set goes beyond the information in Small Stakes Hold 'em and teaches you in easy video format some extra tricks of the trade. It's excellent supplement material that will pay for itself in just a few hours of play.
Coming Soon
I'm presently working on Small Stakes No Limit Hold 'em with no limit experts Matt Flynn and Sunny Mehta. It uses the same winning formula from Small Stakes Hold 'em to teach you to crush your local no limit games. I predict that this book will turn more players into pros than any other yet written, and that it will straight up blow people's minds. Needless to say, I'm very excited for this project. It should be available in early 2007.
