JONNIE FIELDING and anyone else who'd like to play.
Thus far in a live capacity ... JOHN PARKER on double bass ... WILLIAM REID tickling drums and hitting them with more force when deemed appropriate .... MARTIN RADFORD caressing his cello ... JOANTONI trapped behind an unnecessarily huge drum kit (not of his choosing) ... DREW MCCONNELL playing his spangly new acoustic bass ... MATT PARK tinkering on his guitar with a myriad of effects pedals at his feet ... ED LARRIKIN ... singing with a slightly manic look in his eyes ... SPENCER BROWN twanging his double bass ..... The Christmas Covers Combo 2007 featured the lovely PAUL CROSSLEY on guitar & kazoo .... PETE HARRIS on bass .... and ROSS KENNING playing drums.

In 2008 I recorded some songs with my good friend William, and was lucky enough to enlist the help of other friends who (like William) all gave their time and talents for free … for which I am eternally a grapefruit.
NOTE TO SELF for these recordings were:
Jonnie Fielding: vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, violin & melodica ------ Matt Park: electric guitar --------- John Parker: double bass ------- William Reid: electric bass ---------
Joantoni Segui: drums ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Produced by William Reid at Beaver Town --------- Assisted by Sanjay Mitra ------------------------- I will post the songs up sporadically / periodically. The first is called 'I Waited', and like the others, is fully downloadable should you feel inclined.
‘Note-To-Self’ is really just one guy, (which is me), with one guitar, and a violin. The songs were recorded a while back in my bedroom using a clip-on ‘tie’ microphone which I clipped on to a wine glass, which in turn stood on a number of books, which in turn were piled on my desk, which was on the floor. This explains the slightly ropey quality of the recordings. Since setting up this myspace page I've done quite a few gigs, which I hadn't actually thought I would when I started ... but if someone would like me to play somewhere or other, then I will, so you just need to ask. I’ve done a lot of gigs with other people and recorded with them in my capacity as a fiddle/violin player. I’m very fortunate that I have quite a few friends who also happen to be very good musicians and let me join them. In some cases, they were friends first and the music came later, and in other cases the music came first, and we became friends through that. I’ve been fortunate enough to be both friends and play music in a violining capacity with John & Luke (aka Nizlopi), and with Merrick Angle as ‘The Invincibles’, Jamie McDonald, Rosalind, Coralie and Gary Stewart, Finn Daniel, Hush The Many, Jont, Kid Harpoon, Bobby Cook, Larrikin Love, The Pan I Am, a Babyshambles remix wattsit madooooda of 'delivery' and with Drew McConnells 'side project' ... Helsinki. F. Lunaire, The LMHR Carnival as part of 'Helsinki' with The View, Fyfe Dangerfield (The Guillemots) & John McClure (Reverend & The Makers) and Mongrel (featuring Matt Helders from The Arctic Monkeys Andy Nicholson who used to be and John McClure and Drew and others) & Carl Barat.
Absolutely fantastic Jonnie. Been playing the songs for a few days now and they're superb. Have a look at Candlelit.N.E which is a venture run by a beautiful girl called Meline ( Joss Elliott from Capote's other half ) The link is the first on our friends. Is it ok if I send Meline a song of yours to put on their player ? I know Joss loved your songs and they'll probably get you a gig in Sunderland sometime. They're fantastic people and if you haven't already checked out their music, make sure you do, I think you'd enjoy it. Take care Jonnie and speak soon buddy. Pete*
Wow Jonnie Your new recordings are very special brother. Lied his love away and Emilia says sorry are beautiful - your performance of I wished it was true is breathtaking. Please come and play a Candlelit gig for us soon buddy. Blessings Pete*
Hi, thanks for remembering me! I'm not very good at these myspace-things, I just don't seem to have the time. Which is stupid. 'Cause I do. I'll try doing better in 2009. best of luck to you too in the new year!
An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. Bonne annee et bonne santer note to self. Love, Angela xxX
