NOTHING EVER STAYS is one of the new exciting bands to emerge from today's alternative rock genre. Having first making their start in 2004, Nothing Ever Stays quickly jumped into the local music scene of San Luis Obispo, California. Catching the attention of local listeners at shows, Nothing Ever Stays soon found themselves in the eye of local Promoters which invited the band to be apart of bigger audiences, opening for larger touring acts. Eager to record, Nothing Ever Stays quickly jumped into the studio and brought forth their first full length entitled "Two Years Later" (2004). Although rushed in recording with little development, Two Years Later gave the first impression of a band on the rise. The self released album sparked a start for the newly rising Alternative-rock quartet. With the help of internet music sites such as Myspace and Purevolume, Nothing Ever Stays gained loyal fan's across the U.S. and other parts of the world promoting and marketing their music themselves.
In March of 2006, with producer Jeff Schnewies, Nothing Ever Stays recorded an EP entitled “Progression.” Originally a 5 song EP, "Progression" was definitely different than the bands previous release. Songs such as "The Burn" and "Black, White and Red all over" instantly showed a more mature and well crafted band. the rest of the tracks including "These Strings Will Tell", "Difficult" and "We Said Goodbye" were instant favorites that were received amazingly by fans and new listeners all over the internet. The quality of the recording easily surpassed all expectations the band had hoped for. "Jeff put all his effort into making these songs sound the best." explains bassist David Kirkpatrick. "We learned a lot through him and its something that we needed to experience as a band to become better." An article in Alternative Press Magazine (May 2006) featured Nothing Ever Stays as one of the artist of of the month in the AP&R section. AP Magazine compared Nothing Ever Stays to the likeness of JIMMY EAT WORLD, BAYSIDE and ACCEPTANCE. Nothing Ever Stays soon were on the verge of becoming a signed act, grabbing the attention of Ace Enders from THE EARLY NOVEMBER (Drive-Thru Records) "Ace contacted us interested in our music after hearing it on Purevolume" says drummer Ryan Kirkpatrick. "We met up at a couple shows that Ace invited us out to, when he was touring through California, and made a deal signing to His label: Regular Music Records".
Nothing Ever Stays re-released their "Progression EP" under Regular Music Records in September of 2007 with two additional acoustic songs “Leave this all behind” and “The Revenge of Holden Caulfield”. Early that year in March of 2007 Nothing Ever Stays continued their success earning a spot on a National tour with THE EARLY NOVEMBER(drive-thru records) THE ROCKET SUMMER(Island Def-jam) and MELEE (Warner Bros.) Releasing their "Progression EP" on iTunes, Nothing Ever Stays continued to play shows and were fortunate enough to have shared the stage with bands such as: TAKING BACK SUNDAY, SAVES THE DAY, SHERWOOD, UNDEROATH, THE EARLY NOVEMBER, THE ALMOST, MIKE HERRERA (MXPX), RUFIO, THIS PROVIDENCE, CUTE IS WHAT WE AIM FOR, WAKING ASHLAND, THE ROCKET SUMMER, MELEE and many others.
Recently parting ways with Regular Music, Nothing Ever Stays are still committed to their craft and their fans. "Our fans are a big reason for motivating us to keep writing songs and being the best band we can be," says Milan Vrajich. "We love to perform and can't wait to share these new songs with everyone."
