....rock n roll is supposed to sound. Check out what the experts say ;o)...
DEMO OF THE MONTH - METAL HAMMER MAGAZINE :
"The tracks have hooks, vocal grit and wailing solos that could put Don Dokken to shame. They could quite easily become the most exciting band on the growing underground sleaze circuit".
POWERPLAY MAGAZINE :
"These Camden boys play like rock gods, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they acted like rock gods as well."
BLACK VELVET MAGAZINE :
"These guys are making quite a name for themselves on the London circuit, and judging by this demo, it should only be a matter of time before they break out wo a wider audience. Opener `Bad Habit` literally takes your face off from the first thunderous riff, and they clearly don`t know the meaning of the term `easing the listener in gently`. Straight out of the sleaze rock gutter, with song titles like `Cheap N Nasty` and `Wasted`, you know what they`re gonna sound like before you press play - they`re all gritty vocals and killer riffs, backed up by a tight rhythm section. Their profile is on the rise and with good reason - this is good-time, don`t-give-a-fuck rock n roll like it was meant to be played."
REVELATIONZ.NET :
"This demo is amazing. This could be the future of English hard rock."
44CALIBER.CO.UK :
"Some bands make it look easy. Nothin' To Lose are one of those bands. Their sound is a loud, proud, rock 'n' roll riot second to none. Add to that they've already got Metal Hammer on their side and it shouldn't be too long before these boys break out of the underground. And believe me, they deserve to."
SUBBA-CULTCHA.COM :
"Ever since The Darkness and Dragonforce have proven that being over the top needn't be a bad thing Nothin' To Lose have taken things one step further, fusing AC/DC's riffs with the beer sodden vocals of Alabama Thunder Pussy and the guitar histrionics of Steve Vai. Genius indeed!!!"
GARRY BUSHELL, THE PEOPLE :
"Rock like it oughta sound - raw riffs, hot hooks, dirtier than a Paris Hilton home movie."
PURERAWK.CO.UK :
"They fuse long wailing solos and classic riffage, driven bass lines and high speed drumming alongside gravelly vocals to create a monster that seems to be grabbing those who are in its path by the scruff of the neck."
BUBBLEGUM SLUT MAGAZINE :
"In just a handful of gigs NOTHIN' TO LOSE have established themselves as London`s `scenesters de jour`.....within a few songs it`s not difficult to see why the capital`s glam circuit has adopted them as its flagship band." -
DEMO OF THE WEEK - HEATHENANGEL.CO.UK
"Nothin' To Lose have an amp meltingly powerful sound, limitless confidence and stunning musical talent. Just listen to the fiddly epic guitar solos which Slash and Steve Vai would be proud to have created. Unlike the aforementioned doom mongers of rock, The Darkness, there are no tongues planted firmly in cheeks or cat suits in evidence. Nothin' To Lose are deadly serious and this in no way detracts from the music. Many of the ingredients of old fashioned rock n' roll are there but they don't sound tired or cliche. Nothin' To Lose have managed to inject the genre with a much needed adrenaline shot."
Legendary Camden Town rockers NOTHIN' TO LOSE tore the London rock scene a new ass after bursting onto the scene in 2006. Vocalist Max Pornscar, guitarist Mick Priestley, bassist Muggsy and drummer Wim Von Vuuren (replacing original drummer Jake Reed) drank more booze, caused mor emayhem and fucked more girls than everyone else on the scene combined.
The first gig was at Camden's Purple Turtle with The Skintight Jaguars, and that kickstarted what was to follow - Nothin' To Lose headlined a sold-out house at Camden's Underworld for the Xmas Rock Xplosion, then with the emergence of Camden Town rock club Hotter Than Hell, Nothin' To Lose headlined three events (all three of which sold out), putting them into the 1 slot for gigs supporting the likes of Buckcherry (September 06, Underworld), Canada's Crystal Pistol, Hollywood's Tattooed Millionaires, The Tokyo Dragons, Guns n Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and others. In the summer of 2007 Max Pornscar left the band and was briefly replaced by Peep Show frontman Johnny Gunn, and the band took to the road for the HOTTER THAN HELL European tour with friends Kid Ego, Spanish rockers ..77 and Majick, taking in Newcastle, Cheltenham, London, Barcelona and Madrid before returning to London. Differences within the band led to Johnny Gunn leaving and the band taking different directions.
Nothin' To Lose have appeared in numerous magazines, radio stations and on TV, including KERRANG!, Metal Hammer, Powerplay, RockSound, Total Rock Radio, KERRANG! Radio...the list is endless.
