Not Quite Right are a perfect example of how well you can do from straight up hard work. Formed in 2001 in Paraparaumu, the band have since gone on to be among the most prolific live acts in the country. The four-piece new school punk act began to gain notice in 2002 with the release of their first six-song EP and a runners-up spot in the Wellington Regional Battle of the Bands final, but it was their high live output from 2003 on that saw them rack up gigs with many NZ acts as well as internationals like Lagwagon, Strung Out, No Use For A Name, Against Me, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, Bouncing Souls and Strike Anywhere. Not Quite Right have also played at X-Air in Wellington (twice) and are regularly featured on extreme sports programme XSTV.
On the recording front, the band's self-titled album hit in 2003 and tracks from it also appeared on the compilations Punkemon 2, Remedial Class and various extreme sports DVDs. After a successful tour of Australia with Brisbane's The Disables and Sydney City Trash in 2006 Not Quite Right returned to New Zealand for a second tour with Strike Anywhere, Melbourne's A Death in the Family and Sydney's Unpaid Debt.
Their second album, Point Of No Return was released early 2006 and 'our history, our future' a 5 track e.p was released early 2007. Returning to Australia again in September for an extensive month long tour with Sydney's Unpaid Debt covering the country from Melbourne to Toowoomba and meeting and playing with various bands along the way.
The Future looks good for Not Quite Right in 2008, who are planning to release their third full length early in the year.
