    drew circles on paper,
    called it science.

    how else would you define
    symbols etched into wood pulp
    beaten like a singapore whore?

    see, in the beginning
    the world was round,
    the rectangle got the shaft
and the triangle's been balancing on eggshells ever since.

    tip-tap
    tip-tap
    evolution's got a bad rap
    bad rap.
    --
and you thought you had the simple answer...
no, i know you never agree,
    never believe.
    shouldn't be surprised anymore,
but can't help wishing you'd learn to dream...
    ---
sigh, screw, or smile, it's all the same:

method acting without a blue screen
    or metaphors
    to flush out your scene.

it's as close to reality as you can bear
and might as well be krypton.
    ---
kilgore trout said he never asked to be born,
    said none of us do.
his explanation for the initiation of that event
is enough to make you skip lunch,
    so i won't explain,
though it is of note that a circle was involved.

    trout, however, never skipped lunch.
    couldn't,
    see, he wasn't real.

    of course,
    the irony is -

    he still didn't care.
    ---
if a tangent were pulled taut,
would it still be a tangent?

    i'd say yes,
but straight lines never interested me much -
    i always prefer the curves.

    Recent Good Flicks:
    Inkheart
    Gabriel
    Sex Drive
Zack & Miri Make a Porno
    Mamma Mia!
  • Television

meh... I've given up on tv. the few decent shows can never figure out when they want to play. it's not worth the effort -- I'll wait for the DVD.
  • Books

    NEW:
A Dirty Job - Christopher Moore: - the funniest book I've read in... ever! READ IT!

Up Till Now - William Shatner: Pretty interesting stuff... not as much Star Trek as one might fear. Funny at times, but occassionally touching as well.

Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde: While familiar with the reference, I had never read the book. Was slightly disappointed in its sparseness.

iWoz - Steve Wozniak: One might argue that hubris is justified, considering, but Woz's bragging comes across poorly in this "the world revolves around me" telling of his life.

Citizen of the Galaxy - Robert A. Heinlein: Traditional Heinlein, always interesting, always satisfying.

I Am Legend - Richard Matheson: Six gazillion times better than the movie. I'm looking for more of his stuff.

Coraline - Neil Gaiman: Not bad, though not his best.

    PREVIOUS:
    Needful Things - Stephen King
    Cujo - Stephen King
    Christine - Stephen King
The Dark Tower - Stephen King (Audiobook)
    Dragon - Stephen Brust
A Dark & Hungry God Arises - Stephen R. Donaldson

Blurbs

About me:

Look for my published work:
Last Testament - Infinite Windows, October 1, 2009
Dark Becoming - M-BRANE SF, Published December 1, 2009 in Issue #11
Growing Up - Underground Voices, slated for December 2009

Who I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet myself ten years ago and slap me for being stupid enough to back off on my writing career. There's no telling where I'd be now if I'd not allowed myself to get dispirited due to a couple of minor setbacks.

Sleep? Yes. Mainly because I have been super sickly. Feelign better now though. Oh, and when I am dead, there will be no sleep. Especially if I am able to haunt people. Who am I kidding? I would be in hell. (If there is an afterlife.) Love you, bro.......
