Not Without is as diverse and eclectic in age as they are musically. Their music is a quirky blend of fusion and pop with classical, Cajun and rock overtones. Inventive and definitely electric! With the passionate and unique lead vocals of Quad Cities, Illinois native, Emily B. Cooper, the band is well on its way to defining a sound that is all their own. Chicago staple, Jim Kasiewicz, provides innovative, fiery guitar madness and is not “afraid” when it comes to writing catchy pop and rock hooks. Since being formed in October, Emily and Jim have already penned several finely crafted pop tunes. The entire band has brought their individual talents together to write several frenzied but memorable instrumentals as well. The band’s credo is “we can play whatever we want – we always make it sound like us.” The other members of Not Without include home grown drummer / percussionist, Ryan Shepherd, who engineered the band’s first CD sampler, bass player extraordinaire, Ian Martinek, and smokin' on violin, Rachel Baiman. For our friend Jim -- Please attend a benefit for Jim Kasiewicz who is struggling to recover from surgery to his hand. Many great musicians will be performing.
