Powerful, raw, sludgy, psychedelic, filthy doom metal… Some painfully chosen words attempting to describe the 5 piece from Ballarat, Australia. Since forming in 2010 the band had played only a handful of gigs and released a few demos few and far between. As of April 2011, Noûs found some momentum recording their debut EP "Eobiont". Produced 100% in-house, engineering, mixing, mastering and artwork was all accomplished by members, result of staying true to the DIY attitude established by the bands main influences. With dark heavy low end rumble, weighty drums, controlled dissonance with harsh, guttural vocals there's also a wide range of middle ground. Searching for unique sounds and dynamic shift without cliché is a primary reason the band formed. The genres Noûs touch upon have many uninspired knock offs just as it goes in all forms of art these days, this band is not one of them. Having only just released an EP, the band already has plans for new releases and national tours for the year 2012.
