   About Nouvellas

"Think Dusty Springfield backed by the Yardbirds..."
(Music Snobbery)

"We may be going out on a limb here, but if the Rollling Stones
were fronted by a woman, they would sound not unlike NYC's Nouvellas."
(The L Magazine)

"Singers Jaime and Leah (formerly of the Dansettes) are both
inveterate crate diggers well-versed in the dusty groove and thus
have a very clear idea of what they are doing here."
(Monkeyboxing Empire)

"With a look straight from the Ed Banger Parisian streets and a
sound twisted, squeezed and rung from '60s motown and Aretha
herself, the Nouvellas aren't just a revivalist group. They're using rock's
foundation to inject fun back into the indie rock equation."
(HaveYouHeard.net)

"The Nouvellas are new and something to look out for"
(Riot Becki, The Pipettes)

THE FLESHTONES and NOUVELLAS
Rocks Off Concert Cruise aboard the Half Moon!

The Half Moon is a 200-capacity, two-level boat, with a full bar docked at Skyport Marina, at 23rd Street & the East River. The bands play on the upper level, which has a roof, but is open on the sides. There is also a large open deck on the upper level, where smoking is permitted as you enjoy panoramic views of the city and beyond. Departing from 23rd Street and FDR Drive, the Half Moon heads south along the East River and passes underneath the three major bridges (Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn), then cruises through New York harbor to the Statue of Liberty, which it circles for approximately thirty minutes. It then turns around and makes the same trip again in reverse over a three hour period. The experience of watching the bridges pass overhead while a great band is rocking twenty feet away is not to be missed!

Thursday, May 28th. Doors at 7PM.
$20 in advance / $25 day of show

My intro to the band was a week ago when you guys opened for the Muffs. It's rare that an opening band catches my ear but you guys really did. Excellent sound all around. Looking forward to a full-length release one of these days...
