Powerful, refreshing, intense. novAct stands for experimental and progressive rock music, combined with atypical yet atmospheric vocals.
Quote from Sensory Records
"...Although together for only a brief time, Dutch progressive metal newcomers NovAct have begun to make a name for themselves in the metal world. On the basis of a strong four song demo the band was invited to perform at both the Headway Festival and ProgPower Europe in 2004. With their debut set for release on Sensory, NovAct is poised to continue their rise to prominence.
NovAct have found the perfect blend of melody and complexity echoing bands such as Dream Theater, Rush, Pain Of Salvation and Vanden Plas. Vocals are an important part of their sound and in that respect the band has one of metal's great new voices Eddy Borremans. Quite simply Eddy doesn't sound like any one else! He has an uncanny ability to convey his emotions in every song in a way that brings warmth to a genre often categorizes as cold and emotionless. "Tales from the Soul" is thinking man's metal that aims for the heart as well as the head..."

Background
novAct was founded by Wouter Wamelink as Morgana-X in February 2001. All members of the band worked on various projects over the preceding years - bands like Stentorian, Cardiac Compression and Perpetual Demise - and all are dedicated musicians. They changed their name into novAct in 2004. Due to a severely growing deafness Wouter was replaced by the very talented guitar player Roy Segers in December 2005.

Discography
In October 2001 novAct (as Morgana-X) released a Live Rehearsal Demo, which contains the first three songs they have written. According to the reviews the demo was received exceptionally well for a live rehearsal recorded so early in the existence of the band. In January 2003 they have launched the 'promo 2003: Morgana-X - misunderstood' that should be their first step to major public exposure as it fully represents what they were capable of in 2003. After novAct finished recording their first full-length album - sporting 10 songs - they signed a contract with the American record label Sensory owned by Ken Golden. The album 'Tales From The Soul' received a worldwide release in February 2005 and more material is already being developed for a second full-length album!

The state-of-the-art poligrafic device which we keep moving from one secret hideaway to another in order to foil the machiavellian forces that are endeavouring to put their disgustingly acquisitive hands on it so that no one in the whole wide world can know their true intentions and reveal the details of their ignominious plot to rule the lives of the multitude still indicates that while bankers, stock-exchangists, and fundamental-materialists are having ongoing and increasing troubles at forcing their respective belief systems down the throat of the good hard working people that are subsidizing them when not squarely bailing them out, one thing remains constant : you can trust music to lift you up.
And guess what ? We happen to have music on our profile ! Which is just an almost effortless click away ! I mean, I know what I would do if I were in your shoes...
And while I have your attention, allow me to add that we are gathering funds to record our first album. You're invited to support us by pre-ordering at http://poligraf. wordpress. com/. Help us rock this world a little freer from the limitations of conventional thinking ! ;o)
Any help in getting the word out is deeply appreciated !

Hallo!
