Fueled by the sad condition of today's emaciated music scene, Nova Lex stands among the few in an industry overflowing with too many "artists" and not enough musicians. Nova Lex strives to blend styles of current trends with the heavy underground trends to expose listeners of both to each other's type of music. The influences of prog, techno, black/death metal, classical, and electronica are woven into a tapestry of brilliant sound making Nova Lex impossible to ignore.
Above all they take the risk of being new and inventive in their song writing techniques to quench the thirst of those tired of hearing the regurgitated copies of copies that now saturate the music industry. Their music is cleverly composed of driving dance beats mixed with the thundering double bass of death metal. The guitars in the mix range from heavy to melodious to acoustic and combinations of all. Most importantly, the melodies and harmonies contained in the music of Nova Lex clearly convey strong expression of human emotion.
The incarnations of Nova Lex, Luke Caviola and Adam Josker, have worked together for 4 years. Two of those years were spent in their former metal band, RNWB, with Luke on guitars/vocals and Adam on keyboards. Sharing similar tastes in music, they chose to use Nova Lex as the channel through which to express their individuality and courage in trying different options in creating music. Nova Lex has since remixed songs for Nuclear Blast artist, SOILWORK, Century Media's ENFORSAKEN, the metal band, DEADLOCK(NY), and is working on remixing others with their unique style.
-Nova Lex has a mission to infiltrate the popular music industry under aliases of genres widely accepted to influence the mainstream by incorporating different styles that stay true to the definition and law of *music. By mixing these contrasting genres with the mind of Nova Lex, its advocates plan to bring the masses to know the New Law.
*Music - The art and science of sound and time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and dynamics.
