About me:

Welcome to my official MySpace profile. I’m Nova Southeastern University. But my students call me Nova – a dynamic university in suburban Fort Lauderdale offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields, and with an international presence. I’m both traditional and innovative. And most important, I’m there for you. We’re proud to be the Sharks. Because there’s always a feeding frenzy of really cool stuff going on. Like at our amazing new University Center with a state-of the-art RecPlex Fitness Center – a three-story mega gym. Hungry? Chow down at my food court. Grab a late night snack at the Flight Deck where you can shoot some pool, watch the big screens …or just chill. You want it? I got it. Fraternities and sororities. 16 Men’s and women’s NCAA teams – including our 2008 Sunshine State Conference Champions in Women’s Basketball, Rowing and Golf. Intramurals, including coed volleyball, basketball and racquetball – and the beat goes on. And when it’s time to study or crash, I’ve got brand new residence halls (hardly your parents’ “dorms”) you’ll call home. All on an amazing, totally wireless, 300-acre campus centrally located in fabulous Fort Lauderdale, that’ll knock your socks off – even if you’re wearing flip-flops! And it’s only a short drive to spectacular Fort Lauderdale beach and the world-famous South Beach in Miami.

O.K, so what else would you like to know? With 27,000 students I’m the 6th largest independent, not-for-profit institution of higher ed in the U.S. (a list of 1,600 schools that includes NYU at #1 and Harvard at #5). So I may be big, but with an average of 22 students in a class, you won’t get lost in the crowd. And it’s really easy to get involved – in clubs and organizations, theatre, student government, intramurals …or whatever interests you. You’re coming here for an education, and a great one at that, so check this out: you can get a bachelor’s degree in one of 33 undergraduate majors. I’ve got an honors program. If you’re really adventurous, how about studying abroad? And, if you’ve got the grades, I’m one of the first dual admission universities, meaning you can come as an undergrad and we’ll save you a seat in one of our grad schools, like medicine, law, dentistry, psychology and pharmacy.

Who I'd like to meet:

I’d like to meet people like me. Independent. Curious. Smart. Adventurous. Fun. People who want to chart their own future. But everyone is different. So be who you want to be. You’ll find people here who are like you – and very different from you. From more than 70 countries. All discovering who they are and what they can become. So set up a campus visit any day except Sundays. You’ll see that we really mean it when we say, “Your Future. Your Terms.” I think NSU is for you. Dive in to the “Shark Tank.” The water’s fine!
