    Novelspot's Interests
GeneralNovelspot is open to all genres, though we veer away from mixing young and adult readers!

A Note About Genres as long as we're on the subject. We have seen such a proliferation of mix and max genre recombinations that our site is designed for our reviews to be categorized under multiple genres.

  • Action-Adventure: All books with an adventure theme or an action theme that do not include a fantasy or supernatural element. With subclasses: action, adventure, crime, detective, mystery, spy, suspense, thriller, war, western. Usually a fiction subgenre.

  • Fiction: A literary work based on the imagination and not necessarily on fact; but just because it is imaginary does not mean it isn't true to some degree. Good fiction tells the truth and leaves the reader with greater knowledge and an epiphany or realization. With subgenres not limited to: chick lit, classical fiction, contemporary, drama, erotica, general fiction, historical fiction, western, young adult.

  • "NonFiction: Writing that is about real events and facts, rather than stories which have been invented. Including but not limited to: autobiography, memoir, biography, cookbook, history, how to humor, inspirational, poetry, self-help, travel, writing.
  • Romance: Modern novels about romantic love; classical novels about medieval heroic romance and adventure (as opposed to fantasy, which has an element of magic.) In a romance, the main plot concerns two people falling in love and struggling to make the relationship work. The conflict in the book centers on the love story. The climax in the book resolves the love story. A writer is welcome to as many subplots as she likes as long as the relationship conflict is the main story. Not limited to contemporary, dark, erotic, historical, paranormal, regency, romantic comedy, romantic fantasy, romantic suspense, sf romance, time travel romance.

  • Speculative Fiction: A class of fiction including but not necessarily limited to fantasy, horror and science fiction, dealing with worlds, themes and characters not part of everyday life. Not limited to: fantasy, futuristic, horror, science fiction, sword and sorcery, time travel, vampire, werewolf

When is a daughter and granddaughter OLDER than their grandparent or mother? LAUGHS! When you use a photo of them as a younger a

Mothers and daughters; what greater love can one find, than the love a mother gives.

I am blessed to have had a truly WONDERFUL mother and grandmother. My memories of growing up are ‘truly special,’ as my mother and I had such a close relationship.

I remember, even as a small child, always looking into my mother’s eyes and seeing unconditional love. I knew if I was in her arms, or just talked to her, all my fears and pain would fade away…like a ‘magical potion’ had erased any hurt the world could give.

I always thought my mother was the ‘most beautiful’ woman I have ‘ever’ known, both inside and out.

My mother was a wonderful artist, and we spent many hours sitting and drawing together, even when I was an adult. We could talk about everything and anything…as we shared in a ‘VERY SPECIAL BOND,’ as understood one another.

The words of wisdom she imparted have remained with me to this day. For she ‘always’ advised me what she ‘knew’ to be best, as no one has ever known me as well.

TODAY is a day to celebrate mothers…so if you are far away, or if you had an arguments, don’t let that keep you from doing something ‘special’ for her, as the time you have with her is short…and you may never get another opportunity to tell her, “HOW MUCH YOU LOVE HER!”

My mother passed away 23 years ago…and I wish today, I could tell her just HOW MUCH LOVE I will ALWAYS hold in my heart for her….

GO CELEBRATE MOTHERS TODAY….

HUGS,

Mary
