We Are Currently Seeking Sponsors for Novembeard 2009!
Please email droptozeroband@gmail.com for sponsorship information
NovemBeard for the Cure is an event organized and designed by friends in the local music scene to help raise money and awareness towards curing Ewing's Sarcoma, a cancerous disease of the bones, and we're not shaving for the entire month of November until we raise our money!.
NovemBeard 2008 Donation Total:$4,480!
Two years ago, NovemBeard for the Cure was able to help raise $2,250 for the Blood and Cancer ward of Akron Children's Hospital in honor of a little girl named Ellie Sutton. For those of you who do not know about Ellie Sutton, she is the girl who sparked the inspiration for NovemBeard for the Cure. In 2007, 13-year-old Ellie was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in her pelvis, tail bone, and lower spine. She underwent numerous chemotherapy and radiation treatments to help cure her cancer, and after an entire year of these treatments, miraculously found that her cancer was in remission.
In 2008, Novembeard for the Cure came back, but this time for celebration of Ellie's remission. Novembeard nearly doubled the previous year's donation by collecting $4,480.
This year, Novembeard for the Cure is trying to reach a goal of $7,000 to give to Akron Children's Hospital, and we need all the help we can get!
A benefit concert will be held on Friday, November 28 to culminate the end of NovemBeard, where all proceeds will be added to the Akron Children's Hospital donation. The concert will be held at The Robin Hood Bar and Grille in Kent, OH and will feature the local music of:
Drop To Zero
Amplexus
State Your Cause
Of One Blood
and more!
More information about the 2009 show will be posted soon.

We need people to watch the parking lot behind the Du Bois Bookstore throughout the show. If anyone can donate any of their time that night to doing this, please let me know.
Hey just wanted to tell you that I think this is really a great thing you all are doing! I won't be able to go as I'm flying home for Thanksgiving but I definately want to donate! I've watched Stef fight this battle for over a year. She's gone through so much and I'm so thankful that she's my friend and is making it everyday! So anything anyone can do to support cancer research or the families of cancer patients I can't thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to thank everyone who came out and supported NovemBeard for the Cure. The show was absolutely amazing and I couldn't be happier with the turn out. Everyone who donated online or at the show, anyone who grew some awesomely ugly beards, and participated in the raffle...all of you are truely great people.
I especially want to thank Drop To Zero for everything they have done. Words can't descibe my appreciation that I have for them. You guys are true friends.
Also, thanks to all of the bands who played for the cause. Coming all the way from columbus, Sighlo and Headchange...and Kent's own, Of One Blood and Bonk. All of you were rocked out hardcore.
yes, the check is in my purse and i will be bringing it to the show.
you can say Phoenix Associates donated it, my dads doing it through the company. thats why he had to write the check out to akrons childrens hospital directly. tax stuff.
btw, in addition to face painted beards, my sister and i got purple and yellow face paint so we can paint awareness ribbons on people too. purple and yellow were the colors of the bracelets jake has, so im going with that as the colors of the ribbon.
