I started playing guitar when I was 9 yrs old. As long as can remember I've always heard melodies in my head. When I first started my biggest influence was Kiss. Soon after I heard both Eddie Van Halen & Randy Rhoads those guys made me want to play at a much higher level. I took lessons at first from a friends mom & my school offered group lessons I learned mostly chords & how to read. In high school I played in several bands & in the jazz ensemble. After high school I attended Music Tech in mpls & got my 1 yr diploma. At Music tech I learned alot of theory & technique. After I graduated I played in several bands in the Twin Cities including Highlander & Medicine Man. In 1994 I bought my first Stratocaster & the sound made me want to play the blues. I spent about 4 yrs at that time digging in deep listening & learning how to play the blues. In 1998 I formed a blues power trio named Tin Pan Alley & played locally in the Twin Cities by 2001 I really wanted to stretch out & play different styles. Alot of the No Walls material was written at this time. in 2003 I recorded a cd with singer Todd melanson called Rhapsody Blue wich was very much influenced by bands like Journey & Styx towards the end of recording that cd I got the blues bug again. This time I dug in real deep & also learned how to sing I put together another power trio called Crooked Dice we played around locally for a couple years then in late 2005 Damien Jahnke contacted me about jamming with him & Brian Christophersen. I knew these guys from High School & I used to jam with Damien. At the time I was happy with Crooked Dice, but the first time I got together with Damien & Brian I knew this could be great finally I had 2 musicians that could play anything that was in my head & also wanted to challenge & push each others limits. Our first cd "Reflections" is now out on itunes our band is No Walls. Right now I have about 48 guitar students that I teach out of my house I love teaching my next step is to do online lessons geared toward the advanced player I can be contacted at 612-807-2907 for lessons, session work or live performance.
Hi!Thanks for being my friend!! Take a look at my video "There's no end" It's about pedophile priests and it's really shocking! Remember to leave your opinion on my blog! Magdalen Graal
I'm doing pretty much the same stuff I've been doing for years, except away from home. That kind of makes it a plus. I have to find a way to stay in Minneapolis. Less sounds of my dog barking and the phone ringing constantly.
Hey Mike, Bob Waack here. I applied to Guitar Center not too long ago, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon. If not, I'll have to keep scouting around for work. How have you been?
Brutal songwriter bash tonight, and a chance for fans to lay down their support for live broadcasting of independents in the twin cities. Kitty Cat Klub, Dinkytown, 9-1. It won't be the same party without you. Hockey gear optional.
Haidy-ho, Mike-orino. How're things going? College is a blast. My room mate has at least 5 guitars, although mainly I play on the Martin he brought. Mostly that. I also occasionally catch the light rail and mosey over to the new Best Buy at the Mall of America. They've got a big music section in the back. I recommend you check it out sometime. Relatively inexpensive stuff, and a small, $100 baby electric guitar. Pretty sick.
Anyway, I'm off for now. Room mate is out for the weekend, so I get to do some of my favorite things: 1. Sleep whenever I want, 2. Fart wildly, and 3. Drink all the soda we've got. It's fantastic.
Mike- Hope your finger will be ok. It's been awesome getting lessons from you. I've learned a lot. Got a lot to work with for now. Give me a ring when you are ready.
